OVERVIEW
YAMATAKE SVP3000 Alphaplus Series Smart Valve
Positioners (SVP) are high performance microprocessor based current-to-pneumatic valve positoners.
The SVP receives a control signal from a control device and modulates the air supply to the control valve
actuator, providing an accurate valve position that is
proportional to the control signal.
SVP uses a two-wire 4 to 20 mA loop making it a direct
addition or replacement for any existing control system.
The SVP has communications capabilities, automatic
configuration, and self-diagnostics that increase productivity and efficiency of plant operation.

FEATURES
Easy to use
Auto setup software is a fully automatic configuration program. Unlike other smart positioners, the SVP
has no need for handhelds or PCs for basic configuration. Program can be run from an external switch
that is isolated from electrical components.
Smart communication is possible for calibration and
configuration with HART 275 and SFC Smart Field
communicators.expansion flexibility.

Self-diagnostic of the SVP permit monitoring the

valves dynamic operation remotely for earlier detection of deterioration of failure.

Optimum settings for v arious applications

Positive seating. When the process needs tight
shut-off, the SVP cuts-off any unnecessary air to the
actuator at a specified signal value.
Positioner can be modified to match the valve
characteristics.

With the full ability to configure, a single SVP model
can satisfy most requirements

HART Model 275 communicator is us ed for the following SVP basic calibration /configuration parameters : ID, Auto setup, Zero /Span,

Stem Travel monitoring, Self-Diagnostics.

Yamatake SFC smart field communicator is used for parameters not supported by HART communicator. For more information on the

SFC160 or SFC260 Smart Field Communicator Refer to Operator Manual CM2-SFC100-2001
