Process: Cycle Count on Specific Item (s)
The process for cycle counting begins with the ABC Analysis process !hile
the intent is to cycle count specific items" #racle will nee$ to you i$entify what
the starting point is for that specific item cycle count
#b%ectives: This $ocument e&plains the process for cycle counting specific items within
your organi'ation #()*
This $ocument will assume that you wish to perform a cycle count on a specific item (s) within
your organi'ation in$epen$ent of which subinventory that item may resi$e This will allow you
to select specific items within your organi'ation" combine them into one cycle count" an$ perform
the cycle count accor$ingly

In the 0efine ABC Compile window, enter the following:
Compile Name: Enter a unique name for the compile. You may want to incorate the date
within the Compile name.
Description: Enter a description of the compile.
In the Content Scope section, enter the following:
Organiation: If chec!ed, the compile will "e run for all items in the organiation.
#u"in$entory: If chec!ed, the compile will only "e run for the items associated with a
su"in$entory. If you select %#u"in$entory& enter the name of the
su"in$entory in the field "elow.
In the 7aluation Scope section, enter the following:
Organiation: If selected, Oracle will $alue the items across the entire organiation in all
su"in$entories. If the Content #cope is Organiation, the 'aluation
#cope must also "e Organiation.
#u"in$entory: If selected, Oracle will $alue only the quantity in the selected
su"in$entory.

In the Compile Specification section, enter the following:
Criterion: (se the )ist of 'alues *)O'+ to select the criteria for the compile.
Oracle uses the compile criterion to $alue the items you include in your
,-C compile.
Cost .ype: (se the )O' again to select the cost type. 'alue %/roen& is the default.
In the e0ample a"o$e, IC' was chosen.
1eep in mind that while you need to compile your items, your specific item cycle count will determine
what you will "e counting.
8Save3 your wor! and select the Compile "utton. .his will su"mit a request to run the compile
program. Clic! on the #9 "utton.

Class Name: Enter a unique name for the class
Description: Enter a description of the class
Inacti$e On: (sed only to inacti$ate a class.

In the ABC Assignment :roups window, enter the following:
:roup (ame: Enter a unique name for the assignment group.
Compile (ame: Enter the name of an ,-C Compile. #elect from the )ist of 'alues
#u"in$entory: Displays the su"in$entory, if any, associated with the compile. In the
e0ample a"o$e, we are not limiting the compile to any specific
su"in$entory. .his will default in "ased on your Compile definition.
'aluation #cope: Displays the scope of the compile. .his will default.

In the ABC :roup Class Assignment window:
2riority: #equence num"er in which the classes are ordered. .he lower the
num"er, the higher the importance. .he default is the ne0t a$aila"le
integer. <S; T-; 0;=A<)T.
Class Name: Enter the name of the class to use. Select your class name from the list
of values
Description: Displays the description of the class. .his will default.
8SA7;3 your wor!. Close this window and return to the ABC Assignment :roups window.
Clic4 on the 8Assign Items3 Button.

In the Assign ABC Items header window:
,-C 3roup: Displays the group name.
Compile Name: Displays the compile name.
#u"in$entory: Displays the su"in$entory if chosen.
Num"er of items: Displays the num"er of items in the compile.
.otal Compile 'alue: Displays the total $alue of the compile.
In the ABC Assignments section:
Class: Displays the predefined classes.
Item: 4ill display the item name.
#eq.: .he sequence num"er from the ,-C Descending 'alue 5eport for the last
item to "e included in the class. If you are assigning classes another way,
this field will "e automatically calculated.
In$entory 'alue: Enter the cumulati$e gross in$entory $alue. If another method of
assigning classes is chosen, the field is automatically calculated.
6 Items: Enter the cumulati$e percentage of items to include in the class. If
another method of assigning classes is chosen, the field is automatically
calculated.

Item Description: Displays the description of the item.
