Indian Institutes of Management Government of India in the Ministry of Human Resource Development,
Department of Secondary and Higher Education have set up six Indian Institutes of Management at
Bangalore, hmeda!ad, "alcutta, #uc$no%, Indore and &o'hi$ode( )hese institutes are fully funded and
controlled !y Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary and Higher
Education( )hese six IIMs mainly conduct t%o*year courses in +ost Graduate Diploma in Management
%hich is e,uivalent of MB and -ello%ship +rogramme in Management %hich is e,uivalent to +h(D( In
the fraternity of IIMs the t%o IIMs at Indore and &o'hi$ode %ere esta!lished !y the Government of
India in the .//0( )hese institutes are still in the pro1ect mode and the construction activities of the
campus are in full s%ing( 2hile IIM Indore is presently functioning from the !uilding of the
Government 2omen +olytechnic "ollege at Indore, IIM &o'hi$ode is currently functioning from the
!uilding of RE", "alicut(
Eligibility
For Post Graduate Programmes in Management:
-or all IIMs, the minimum eligi!ility criterion for admission to +G+ is at least a three*year Bachelor3s
degree or e,uivalent in any discipline recogni'ed !y the ssociation of Indian 4niversities 5I467 ll

n intervie% is a personality test( In an intervie%, the panel loo$s for a sound grasp of your
discipline, self*a%areness, clarity of goals, and a %ell*rounded personality(

GD is a methodology used !y the institute to gauge the candidates capa!ility to function as a
part of a team( In this methodology, the group of candidates are given a topic or a situation, given
a fe% minutes to thin$ a!out the same, and then as$ed to discuss the topic among themselves for
