Translation
l work at a real estate agency. Sometimes l sit on the bench across the street from
the real estate agency and eat my lunch. l like to eat by myself sometimes. There

{(budongsan) - real estate agency - There are a plethora of real estate agencies
around Korea. Anywhere there is an apartment complex, there is bound to be a real
estate agency somewhere nearby.
{I(geonneopyeon) - opposite side - Directions in Korea are almost always given
in relation to other things. {I(geonnyeopyeon) is a word that will be heard quite
frequently when receiving directions.
(indo) - sidewalk - The literal translation of this word is (in), people, (do),
road.
7S(garosu) - street lined trees - ln 7(cheongyecheon) there are now
/7S(sagwagarosu), apple trees.
(chado) - street (for cars) - Korea has a variety of streets that cars drive on.
Sometimes they can be a two-way street, with room for only one car, and sometimes it
can also be an extremely wide street with 4 or 5 lanes per side.
7(jadongcha) - car - Although Korean car companies are not very numerous, the
majority of cars driven in Korea are Korean made cars. This is due to the fact that for-
eign cars that are brought into Korea are taxed quite high.
7{7(jajeongeo) - Not many people ride bicycles in Korea due to the fact that Korea
is a very mountainous and hilly country.
5Hl(otobai) - Motorcycles - Motorcycles in Korea can be dangerous. Taxis have
signs on their doors saying watch out for motorcycles. This is because motorcycles
drive so close to cars that sometimes passengers exiting vehicles, hit motorcycle
drivers.
I(dongne) - neighborhood - Most neighborhoods in Korea will have a T/
(pcbang), [(Kimbap restaurant), and a {(real estate agency).
'7I(baedalsikida) - to order delivery - The most popular food that is delivered
is Korean-style Chinese food, more specifically, 7(jajangmyeon). This is noodles
with black sauce.
