God is Not to Blame

Creflo Dollar
Many people immediately blame God when bad things happen. However, they do not take into
consideration the fact that, like in a movie, there are different factors that have an influence on
the events that take place in our lives. There is the spiritual realm that we dont see and the
influences of society that we must consider. People rarely consider the roles that the devil, the
world, and the flesh play in our situations. For example, if a drunk driver hits and kills a child,
many people would instantly blame God for the tragedy. However, the devil played a role in
enticing that person to drink. That individual played a role in the tragedy by making the unwise
decision to get intoxicated and drive. The world played a role by making overindulgence
acceptable.

We are free moral agents, and God will always respect our right to choose. Even if we choose to
go to hell, He will respect our right to do so. He guards our right to choose even when we
choose to sin or make unwise decisions. However, He is so relentless in His love for us; He will
always try to stop us by speaking to us. Yet we often ignore His still, small voice, and when
tragedy strikes we blame Him. The truth is, sin greatly disrupts our lives. Our sins, and making
unwise choices, often cause us to hurt ourselves and others.

God is not the author of our pain. He is the author of our faith. We can have faith and trust in His
ability, and watch Him work on our behalf. Romans 8:28, AMP, states, We are assured and know
that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for
good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
When we make choices that wreak havoc in our lives, God is still able and willing to intervene.

Like a person taking marred clay and sculpting it into something beautiful, God takes our pain
and turns it into a miraculous testimony. He turns our tragedies into triumph, and our failures
into victories. Only God can do that! Only He can get the glory for it all.

Sometimes we do not understand how much God loves us, and that He is mindful of us. His
plans for us are good, not bad. He wants us to be molded into the image of His dear son.
Romans 8:29, AMP, states, For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved
beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the
image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among
many brethren. As Jesus extends grace to us, we should also extend grace to others.

We should love others as He has loved us. Furthermore, our testimonies help us to encourage
and show the love of God to others when they are going through hard times.

Instead of seeing God as a mean Father who wants to punish us, we should see Him as He isa
gracious loving Father trying to overwhelm us with His love. He continually demonstrates
unconditional love to us despite our wrongdoings, shortcomings, and mistakes.
