ASSIGNMENT 1 (REFLECTION TUTORIAL & DISCUSSION: 15%) Task: The first assignment is a weekly writing task on the selected topic.
Each individual needs to reflect in writing on the topic determined by the instructor and then discuss the answer with their group members.
Objectives: To support interactive learning To promote problem solving and critical thinking To initiate creative thinking To encourage teamwork Guidelines: This assignment will start in Week 7 (after Mid-Semester Break) and will end in Week 14 of your lecture. Students will be given a topic and reflect in writing. Five minutes are allocated for this task. The writing task is followed by a group discussion. 15 minutes are allocated for this task. Each group member will read his or her own writing and other members need to listen and may add in points to their writings using different ink color. Finally the group members need to choose the best writing, the second and third best. Only those who submitted their writings to the group representative during the discussion will have a chance their writings to be considered for the best writing, the second and third best. Student Presentation: Two minutes are allocated for a randomly chosen group to present the best writing. Group members: 7 members in each group (will be assigned) and a representative must be appointed by the group members. All members need to sit together as a group in each class.
Formats: The writings and reports need to be submitted to the instructor once the task is completed in each week. Report: A group representative is assigned to collect the writings (1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd
best) and report the marks obtained by their group members.
