A very Gud afternoon to everyone, among the 3 topics i ravi Prasad from from

section A would like to share my view on the topic PGDM students must
have at least 2 years work experience. Start from explaning the post
graduation diploma in management which is the most soughted programme in
present scenario and it is widely acclaimed for its strong curriculum having the
knowledge of not only core subject like Accounting, Economic, finance but in
also lays special stress on developing skills competencies through exposure to
real business situations in the form of case studies.

Objective
To enable working professionals rise in their organisations.
To facilitate change of career to managerial and business arena.

The programme which is approved by AICTE & University Grants Commission
- DEB, Govt of India offers specialization in various aspect like marketing
management, financial management then why we need of having atleast 2 years
of experiences.
Let me enlighten towards the needs of well opt managers in the
organization and what basic management function they do. A manager is the
one who coordinates the efforts of people to accomplish goals
and objectives using available resources efficiently and effectively. Here i
would to focus on two important words effectively and efficiently.
Now moving ahead what management function they have. I explain this
only with the 4 words planning, organizing, leading and controlling. With these
they have to work. Adding on this they have conceptual skills, communication
skills, effectiveness skills and interpersonal skills.

But when we compare to the Indian managers with western managers
then we found a huge gap between this like wise in terms of estimation
Western Manager: OK, so you need 10 days. I trust your estimation. I am
adding two days buffer, because no estimate is 100% accurate, and some
unforeseen issues may popup. So I am expecting this to be completed on 12th
day.
Indian Manager: 10 DAYS? What are you talking about? 10 days to complete
such a simple task? If I were in your position, I would have estimated it two
days. I will give you Two days and on Third day I want to see the task
completed.
In terms of leave for two days
Western Manager: You are working very hard. You definitely need a break.
Enjoy your leave.
Indian Manger: (after an expression of shock) How dare you ask for leave on
such a crucial time? This project is not like any other project. It is very critical. I
cannot grant you the leave. Who is your backup, who will do the tasks that you
normally do, on your absence? At least postpone this leave to next month, when
our critical tasks will be completed and we will be in a better position. (If you
ask for the leave next month, he will tell the same thing.)
So these are basic difference between these two and with the help of
above examples i would focus on word which i mentioned above like
effectively and efficiently. Now you tell me that how could we achieve with
such kind of Indian behaviour. According to 7
th
june of 2013 of ndtv news more
than 25% Indians to quit their jobs during the year. Which increases year by
year. This year it will be on 27.5 %.

So as far as i concern if we look at proper development in management
field the experience would not be less than the 2 years because the development
the focusing areas will not be up to the mark and having experience of more
than 2 years will enlarge the skills as required in the companies in present
scenario.
