Dear KG Parents,
Welcome to Emirates National School-Abu Dhabi Campus. We are very glad to see you. Although kindergarten marks the official
start of formal school, children have really been getting ready since they were born. Through their interactions with family, caregivers
and friends, the people around them, they have been learning some important readiness skills such as being responsive to others,
becoming curious about the world around them and eager to master new abilities.
We follow the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and children are given opportunities to experience life events and situations, to
understand these and to process them; thus enabling them to discover and develop strategies for dealing with the world around
them. To help children acquire the attitudes for learning; we use HighScope strategies. We will hold many workshops for parents to
provide the details about our KG curriculum. Please ensure that you attend a few of these workshops.
Please note a few important points to make the transition to Kindergarten smoother for your child:
We will start our school day at 7:30am and children will finish at 1:00pm. Please bring your child to the Green Area
and pick them up from the classrooms directly at home time. We have observed during the past few years that students who
arrive on time (7:30am); settle quickly and tend to enjoy the school life. We will appreciate and encourage you to do the same.
1) Please note that parents are not allowed inside the classrooms or in the pods to wait. We have a large number of activities
to be done with the students to help them settle in the classes. If they see you around, they would want to go to you and
will not be able to enjoy the class activities. If you are anxious about your child, please call the school secretary Ms Amal
(024993509 Email: a.almaazmi@ens.sch.ae) or myself to find out how they are doing. However; your efforts in order to
help them settle down in the class; will be highly appreciated. So please
2) drop them off and come back at the pickup time.
3) Please also note that we do not have after school supervision available for any late children. Please be on time and pick
your child up at 1:00pm from the class. We do not allow drivers to enter the school building, therefore; please ensure that
you bring your child inside the school or receive them from the class. Early dismissal on regular basis is not allowed. Please
let us know in advance by sending an email or making a phone call to below given email addresses or phone numbers;
and arrange with the school if you want your child to be picked up early on a certain day. Early dismissal is only allowed if
the parents come to pick the child up. Nannies and drivers are not allowed to pick up the children for early dismissal for
security reason.
4) Every Tuesday, we finish at 12:30pm. Please make arrangements for your childs early pick up.
5) Next week, teachers will continue supporting our students in the classes and also involve them in some initial assessment
activities to be able to help them better.
I believe together we will build an enthusiastic learning community. I have an open-door policy. Please never hesitate and come
see me if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions. We would love to hear from you.
