Project Title: Using Web Tools 2.

0 in a Social Studies Classroom

General Goal: Teachers will learn the benefits of creating on line final products using specific classroom
oriented online tools.

Specific Outcomes:
Overarching Goal: Students and teachers will learn to use internet and web based resources
appropriately and learn to disseminate information in a style conducive to the learner.
Teachers will be able to communicate copyright and creative common rules to students. This is
important since all students at my school will receive an electronic device this year and much of our
work/lessons will transition from paper to electronic based products. Students and teachers need to
become instantly aware of the limits and right of use for both themselves and students.
Teachers will increase knowledge of and comfort using Web 2.0 Tools in within the Social Studies
classroom. This can be done while maintaining the integrity of the content and curriculum.
Students will become familiar with appropriate use of differing presentation tools. Students will also
learn to present these products through public speaking.
Intended Audience: The intended audience for this project is social studies teachers. I have discovered
several 2.0 tools that can be used as culminating individual or group projects depending upon the topic
being studied. Ultimately the benefactor from using these tools will be the students.
