Education Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA Expected Graduation Date: August 2015 Bachelor of Science: Mechanical Engineering
Technical Skills Operating System: Windows XP, 7, 8 Design Programs: SolidWorks 2013, Solid Edge St4, AutoCAD Other Programs: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Engineering Equation Solver (EES), LabVIEW General Computer Skills: Well versed in operating in the Windows Enviroment Languages: English
Experience Co-Op Experience: Wentworth Institute of Technology Medfield Project 02/01/14-04/01/14 Worked with Architecture Students in redesigning the Medfield State Hospital Helped to create the Design Project for the Mechanical Teams Redesigned the Air Motor Design project to be used in the renovated building Analyzed building energy consumption, and designed an energy system to fulfill LEED requirements
Design Project: Insulated Cable Staple Gun Mechanical Engineering Design Class Project Set up both a Microsoft Project File, as well as Google Doc in order to manage my design team and simultaneously work on the design proposal report. Used SolidWorks 2011 to design a magazine fed, spring powered staple gun designed to drive an Insulated Cable Staple into a wooden stud safely and quickly Design Project: Air Motor Design Mechanical Engineering Design and Analysis Class Project Perform a stepwise frozen equilibrium analysis (using Microsoft Excel) of an air motor in order to calculate the volume of the cylinder, stroke, top and bottom dead center, inlet and outlet hole placements, isentropic efficiency, power output, and hotel power (parasitic load) Using the simulation as well as the Parker O-Ring Handbook, we redesigned the motor to triple its power while still running at the same speed (RPM) and pressure and using only standard parts Used EES (Engineering Equation Solver) to do thermodynamic analysis of the motor and system and SolidWorks to create dimensioned drawings, modify and add to the parts package we received.
Design Project: Single Stage Gearbox Reducer Design of Machine Elements Class Project Set up a Google Doc in order for my design team to simultaneously work on the design report. Design each component used in our assembly (the gears, shafts, bearings and housing) to meet the required specifications, performed Design checks for Factor of Safety using Finite Element Analysis, and created a detailed drawing package of the assembly and each created part.
