it has problems since there are many different cultures
there and the people might dislike another culture and
then start a conflict.

 Click on Middle East Profile and read the content to answer the
following questions:
o What countries define the region? The countries are Iraq,
Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, and Turkey.

o Why are their tensions between Israel and the Arabs? The
tensions are the different political, and economic
differences.
 Click on Iran-Iraq War …
o What country was the largest supplier of weapons in Iraq
during this conflict? The country that supplied the most
weapons to them was the Soviet Union.
 Click on Persian Gulf Wars…
o What was the name of the Iraqi president? Saddam
Hussein.
o What was he accused of that led to war? Illegal oil.
o When was the Iraqi president captured and convicted of
during this war? Was captured recently and was accused of
holding weapons of mass destruction.

big earthquake.
 What countries are considered the major trading
partners with Turkey? Most countries in Europe are
considered trading partners.
