A P P L I C A T I O N S
Wells that require coiled-tubing inter-
vention under a wide range of con-
ditions, including high temperatures,
extended-reach and deep, underbal-
anced environments, and rigs using
high-strength and tapered-coil tubing.
P R O B L E M S
Conventional fluid systems lack the
combination of characteristics that
the FLOPRO
*
CT system uses to over-
come tubing damage, string weight
transfer, high temperatures, hole-
cleaning inefficiencies and narrow
pressure gradients.
S O L U T I O N S
The FLOPRO CT system has been spe-
cially engineered to solve the unique
combination of challenges found in
coiled-tubing applications.
E C O N O M I C S
Because it is specifically engineered
for coiled-tubing applications, the sys-
tem saves time as well as wear and
tear on the rig and tubing; increases
hole-cleaning efficiency; and promotes
easy wellbore entry. Its water-base
formulation saves disposal costs.

The water-base FLOPRO CT system has
been approved for all major operating
areas of the world.

from a well. The rheologically engi-
neered system poses minimal risk
of formation damage in perforated
intervals, with a solids content that
is routinely maintained less than
1%by volume and elevated Low-
Shear-Rate Viscosity (LSRV) that
controls invasion.
Engineered to optimize
your drilling efficiency and
maximize your production
For flexibility, the FLOPRO CT system
can be built with a wide variety of
base fluids:
Freshwater
Seawater
Potassium, calcium or
sodiumchloride
Sodium bromide
Cesium, potassium or
sodiumformate
Compared to conventional fluids
such as brine or brine with HEC
sweeps in similar situations, the
FLOPRO CT system has exhibited
vastly improved string weight trans-
fer with reduced coil helixing and
buckling. Its combination of rheologi-
cal modifiers and interfacial tension
and drag reducers has allowed for
high flow rates at reduced pressure.
FLO-VIS

L premium-grade, clarified
xanthan gum gives the system its
elevated LSRV. This high-yielding
biopolymer is also dispersible and
imparts the LSRV without adversely
affecting the overall gross viscosity
of the system.

Low coefficient of friction
Shear-thinning rheological
profile with high LSRV
Zero or minimal solids
Inhibitive fluid
Drag reduction
Wide density range
Benefits
Reduces mechanical friction
and coil wear
Promotes hole cleaning and
solids suspension
Minimizes pressure loss and
coil wear
Minimizes reservoir damage
Enables entering higher-angle
deeper wells not previously
attainable
Simplifies cleanup
The FLOPRO CT system delivers high LSRVs, which
are measured using a Brookfield rheometer.
Where extremely high LSRVs are required,
a vane spindle is used.
