Brian;
You mentioned a spreadsheet yesterday -- suppose that is what Taylor is referencing. While a spreadsheet is a start -- the data
needs of the program should be comprehensively addressed. Otherwise, we continue to lose valuable time, have people doubling
efforts, etc.
Recall that at the beginning of the project I reached out Regiuel Days of Microsoft because we worked on a very comprehensive
program -- one that combined payroll, attendance tracking -- and academic grades. At the time you shared that the program you
were working on would be able to provide an appropriate platform on a timely basis. Based on our timeline and limited funds, I
deferred to that.
However, we lack efficacy for dealing with information processes: some of which is showing up now -- but other areas are yet to
come.... as many other types of reports will be needed shortly as we move to site visits, evaluations, PPICS and MSDE survey
assessments.
Additionally, student progress reports; compiled by teachers, were captured in a comprehensive system, and other reports that
assist in effectively managing a project. For example, the personnel decisions that we have made this week should be backed
up by data obtained from an info management system that summarized teachers' time of arrival and departure, missed days,
etc.
At this point this spreadsheet is a step in a direction; but a strategic data management plan is needed .. one for this year, then
beyond. For this year... so that we are not caught off guard in a few weeks -- then an actionable plan to develop an information
system for next year. If you still think you have time to develop one that can be tested and ready for August 2014 then we will
need to plan that. Otherwise we need to pursue getting back what I worked on developing with Days of Microsoft for prior MSDE
21stCCLC program because each time I think of a report management report that was helpful, I have to acknowledge that we do
not have it. No problem -- we need workarounds in this first first year, but we should also look down the road to improve these
processes for next year.
What are your thoughts?

She shouldnt be there because the enrollment form was not completely filled out. She only gave an email and
it was the students e-mail not the parents. And there was no phone number written down.

Thanks..great insight.we can talk more tomorrow about this when we meet. EduSerc as a whole is developing
its own system in general outside of the grant that can be used for any type of program and the grant
altogether. Once its available and if it fits, well look to use it to consolidate our information. But any tool we
need for the time-being is fine. Tomorrow is a good day to go over these items for sure!
