(1) Figure 1 shows a system of masses and pulleys The right hand mass is 20kg, the left hand mass is 8kg, the two large pulleys have mass of 5kg and radius of gyration of 0.125m each. The very small pulleys have mass of 3kg and radius of gyration of 0.1m each. The tackle pulley has a mass of 4kg and radius of gyration 0.13m. Find the velocity of the right hand mass after it has fallen 1.5m from rest.

FIGURE 2. A box being dragged up an incline by an electric motor.
(2) Figure 2 shows box being dragged up an incline. The coecient of friction between the plane and the box is 0.10. The motor applies a tension in the cable that, as a fuction of time, is T (t) = 100t. Determine the velocity of the box at a time of 3 seconds.

FIGURE 3. A planetoid in the crosshairs.
(3) Figure 3 shows a view from above of a small, spherical planetoid. Its density is uniform at 2670 kg/m 3 and its diameter is 200 km. Our coordinate system is at the center of this planetoid, with
the k direction pointing out of the page toward you, the student. The angular velocity vector of this planetoid is such that it
points in the positive k direction at a rate of one revolution every ten thousand hours. Notice the mean-looking meteoroid heading toward the planet. Its mass is 6 10 11
kg. It is located currently at <6000, 100, 0 >km and has velocity vector <70, 0, 0 >km/s. When this bad boy strikes the planetoid, it coalesces with the planetoid completely (e = 0). Calculate the rotational rate of the planetoid after this collision. Show all work clearly.

FIGURE 4. A race car on a super-elevated section of track.
(4) Figure 4 shows two views of a car on a track. The right side shows an elevation of a 1500 kg automobile on a superelevated roadway. The leftside shows the same roadway and auto from above. Its current speed of is 80 m/s. Assume that the automo-bile does not slip while rounding this turn. The detail drawing in the upper left corner shows that the center of mass of the au-tomobile is 0.7 m above the roadway. Its track width (between tires) is 1.6m. Find the weight distribution on the inside versus outside tires.
