DEBEG 2902

Dual Channel NAVTEX Receiver

NAVTEX is an international narrow band
direct printing radiotelex system to
broadcast navigational information. It
was established by the International
Maritime Organization IMO as part of
the Global Maritime Distress and Safety
System GMDSS to provide vital
maritime safety information directly
and automatically to ships.
A worldwide network of NAVTEX
coastal stations broadcast navigational
warnings, gale warnings, ice reports,
search and rescue information, and
weather forecasts on the frequencies
518 kHz, 490 kHz and 4209.5 MHz to
all vessels.
The new paperless NAVTEX receiver
DEBEG 2902 is a dedicated, compact,
dual channel radiotelex receiver. It
monitors simultaneously 518 kHz and a
selectable secondary frequency either
the national 490 kHz or the 4209.5 kHz
for long range services.
NAVTEX messages are displayed on an
eight inch colour TFT screen.
Background and foreground colours as
well as font type are user-selectable to
offer a message presentation which
suits the very best clarity under all light
conditions.
The simple to use DEBEG 2902 offers
coloured headings to clearly identify
new received messages. Stored
messages can be sorted and displayed
as well as printed by station ID and
message category.
Up to 200 messages (average 500
characters per message) can be stored
for each receiving channel. In addition
up 50 messages can be stored for each
frequency in a protected area. This area
has a power back-up of at least 120 days.
The receiver provides an interface for
Integrated Navigation Systems or Chart
displays like ECDIS for message
presentation and a serial connector for
an optional remote hardcopy printer.
It will be delivered with a two-band
active antenna as standard to assure a
high reception quality for detected
NAVTEX stations.
The DEBEG 2902 complies with
IMO Resolution A.694 (17) and
MSC.48(77) as well as ITU-R M.540-2,
ITU-R M.625-3, IEC 61097-6 Ed 2 CDV,
EN 60945 and EN 61162-1 for a
paperless NAVTEX receiver.

- Message storage: Indication [STORED] is turned on at the end of each satisfactorily received
message together with a character error rate (CER= XX%) readout
Message storage:
- Capacity: 200 messages (average 500 characters per message) for each receiving
frequency of 518 kHz, 490 kHz and 4209.5 kHz. In addition storage of up to 50
messages on each frequency if stored messages are tagged as protected.
- Duration: 60 hours from successful reception of each message, after which old messages
will be automatically erased from memory on a first-in-first-out basis except
for user-protected messages.
- Storage period without power: Protected messages are stored for at least 10 days
2
Message Protection: Up to 50 messages can be protected against automatic erasure and are saved
in a separate area of the non-volatile message memory.
Protected messages are indicated with [PROTECTED] tag
