Never believe that a few caring people cant change the world.
For indeed, that is all who we have
- Margaret Mead
Keeping in mind with our Institutes policy regarding social cause and a sense of
giving back to the society in some way, we plan to imbibe the spirit of this quote in
Odyssey15. IIIT Delhi has been highly successful in establishing itself as a premier
technical institute within just six years of its inception. Our technical festival Esya,
in just four years, has managed to attract participants from various esteemed
colleges and institutes all across the country. We are an institute which not only
acts as a platform for avid coders, researchers and academicians but also as an
institute that serves as a dynamic platform for talent showcase.
As a prospective Organising Committee, we propose Social Responsibility as
the vision of Odyssey15 which we discuss later in the proposal. Our seniors did a
commendable job in organizing the rst cultural festival of IIIT Delhi in 2014 and we
plan to take the legacy forward. The stage has already been set high. This festival
would help us achieve our vision of projecting IIIT Delhi as an active social cause
contributor as well as a culturally sound institute.

To respect the vast talent hidden in every street and every corner of our country,
cultural fests have been imperative in acting as a signicant platform for
showcasing talent. Keeping with this spirit of cultural fests, Odyssey15 plans to
act as a platform for multi-faceted talent all across the educational institutes and
colleges. The fest will aim to showcase talent from various corners of our reach and
provide the budding stars a platform to achieve their well-deserved accolades and
heights.
Odyssey15 will help in exchange of ideas of our students and those of the incoming
participants. The viewpoints presented in the festival shall resound with those of
the Youth all around the world. This will be possible only when they come together
for a common cause and represent their ideas through the stage set for them.
Odyssey15 promises to help facilitate this process.
The recent comment of our Honourable President on the inclusion of an
Entrepreneurship Culture in Universities further encourages us to promote the
same through a medium of a cultural fest. We aim to enable this via an event
solely focused on pitching ideas for social entrepreneurship. Google Inc. has shown
interest in organising such an event in our institutes cultural fest. We are in the
stage of nalizing the details with them.
Odyssey15 will come with a big social cause as well. To give more meaning to the
entire concept, we aim to raise funds for some NGOs. We plan to make a part of the
Star Night a fundraising event.
We as a team realised the above motives and came on our own accord to form
an organizing committee. It was the dream of the team to turn the vision into a
reality. People with like-mindedness met and this proposal came into existence.
Our individual reasons for wanting to be a part of this committee may be varied but
what holds us together as a team is that we want to bring Odyssey to a level that
will make the whole institute proud. That is our purpose.

Challenges
Issues faced in Odyssey 14
CHALLENGES
Sponsors: This has been the biggest challenge throughout the previous festivals the institute
has hosted. Despite having strong networks and connections, this might turn into a big
challenge.
Infrastructure Issues: Taking care of infrastructure and its proper maintenance will be a
challenge as the fest will span over two days.
Volunteers: Getting dedicated and hardworking volunteers is a big task for every festival.
Time Management: Ensuring that everything goes according to a monochromic time system will
be a challenge. With so many events happening one after the other, well have to ensure timely
execution of all our plans and activities.
Getting a good response: Odyssey is just a year old. We need to ensure that the footfall has
increased exponentially from last year.
Security Issues: There were many thefts during the end of Odyssey14. We will try to make sure
that they dont happen this time.
ISSUES FACED IN ODYSSEY 14
No refreshments for participating teams, not even water bottles.
No Waiting area for judges.
Prizes were not given on time.
Music system problem (short circuit) - no back-up plan was present
More than one event was to take place in the same room at the same time
No proper space provided for green room.
We aim to overcome the above mentioned challenges by having a more planned infrastructure
and Hospitality plan.
Winter is coming and so is Odyssey!
