Literacy: As part of this unit, we will

visit Armley Mills where the children

will experience Victorian life from the
view of a child. Following this, we
will write a character description
about a young boy who lived during
these times. Children will read The
Street Child by Bertie Doherty and
write persuasively about the novel and
finally produce a biography about the
main character. Throughout the unit
children will be thinking about
punctuation, using connectives, openers
and adding exciting adjectives to our
sentences.

Mathematics: In maths children will be
recapping about place value at the
start of the term. Then we will be
learning the written methods for
addition and subtraction and applying
them in our work, this will include
word problems. To finish off the term,
children will learn about geometry and
statistics.

Science: In Science children will be
finding out how we can make water safe
for a Victorian child to drink. We will
be using our filtering skills and will
test several materials.

happen.
