Does your property have copper potable pipes?

Pitting corrosion is a common problem for homes

and buildings with copper potable pipes. This
unique type of corrosion occurs from the water
chemistry interacting with the copper in the pipes,
forming accelerated pits and eventually leading to
pinhole leaks. Copper piping was projected to have
a lifespan of approximately 20 years, but pinhole
leaks and other failures can occur in as little as two
years. Nu Flows blown-in pipe lining solution uses
existing access points to prevent pinhole leaks from
occurring in all types of residential and commercial
buildings, preventing disruption and displacement
for residents.
Project: Use the Nu Line system to rehabilitate
the buildings leaking potable pipe system without
causing destruction.
Customer and Site: A 13-story, apartment building
for seniors in Tampa, Florida, constructed in 1972.
This high-rise has more than 200 units and currently
boasts a 3-year residency waiting list.
System: The copper potable pipe system that runs
beneath and throughout inaccessible areas of the
apartment building. These pipes have diameters
from 1/2 inch to 4 inches.
Problem: Pinhole leaks started to plague this aged
buildings potable pipe system several years ago.
Throughout the years, the customer responded
with small traditional repairs, but realized that the
pinhole leaks would continue unless a long-term
solution was found.
Circumvention: If the customer had chosen traditional pipe replacement instead of Nu Flows innovative solution,
the elderly residents would have been extremely inconvenienced. Destruction would ensue from tearing open the
walls, ceilings and foors in order to access the pipes. Most likely, the residents would be displaced, leaving their
home for weeks.
Solution: The customer chose Nu Flows in-place pipe lining solution and was very satisfed with the result. Instead
of the residents having to leave their homes for weeks, with their units being destroyed from pipe replacements,
the only inconvenience the residents faced from Nu Flow was their potable water being shut off for a few hours,
but never for more than 24 hours. The Nu Line system was installed using existing access points and patented
blown-in technology. After the potable pipes were cleaned, epoxy was blown through the pipe system using clean,
compressed air. This noninvasive solution created a barrier coating inside the potable pipes, which will protect them
from pinhole leaks, corrosion build-up and other common ! failures. Nu Flow provided a long-term, cost-effective
pipe rehabilitation solution and prevented inconvenient displacement for the seniors in this apartment building.
The Nu Line process is a cost-effective,
long-term solution that prevents resident
displacement, which is why we are the
preferred pipe repair solution for senior
housing complexes and other types of
residential properties.
