Summary

Oversea Transaction in foreign currency

In short, all credit card transaction done in foreign currency is set by VISA International, MasterCard International & American
Express International depending on the type of credit type used for the transaction. In short all credits cards regardless of which bank
you used will be using the same forex rate. However the obvious difference from sg credit card and msia credit card is that sg credit
cards emphasize on the conversation of foreign currency to USD and then convert to SGD and msia credit card just indicated that the
foreign currency will be converted msia ringgit. Despite all the description, the forex is still determined by VISA International,
MasterCard International & American Express International.

VISA International, MasterCard International charges 1% fee on converted Singapore amount and American Express International
charges 2% fee on converted Singapore amount.

Oversea Transaction in SGD
For all transaction converted to SGD by merchants or cash drawn from atm, the merchants determined the forex rate. However VISA
International, and MasterCard International charges 0.8% of the relevant transaction amount. There is no fee imposed by the credit
card banks.

The obvious difference for those banks credit cards is their administration/ transaction fees. Some indicate it is based on foreign
currency, some indicated based on converted sg amount and the remaning did not indicate. Whatever it is, most of the time the bank
will choose the one that charges more.

On top of VISA International, MasterCard International charges 1% fee and American Express International charges 2% fee:
