Mini Calendar Database Instruction Manual

Version 2.0
Welcome to the Second Edition of the Mini Calendar Database. There are quite a few differences
between the first edition and the second edition, I will list them now.
First Edition Capabilities
Enable !our end users to enter a date usin" a Calendar form that requires no third part! controls.
Demonstration database to show how to incorporate the Mini Calendar into !our application.
Start the Calendar on a month other then the current month, either a fi#ed startin" point, or a floatin"
startin" point. $The e#ample database shows how to open it on Feb. %&'(, or si# months from the
current month)
Second Edition Capabilities
Enable !our end users to enter a date usin" a Calendar form that requires no third part! controls.
Demonstration database to show how to incorporate the Mini Calendar into !our application.
Three Modes of Mini Calendar *peration
%. Mode % Simple point and clic+ Date entr! into a te#t bo# on a form.
,. Mode , *pen the Mini Calendar, and a second form that has Dated Entries, and as the user mo-es
the mouse around the Calendar, the information shown on the second form is for the date that the
mouse is o-er.
.. Mode . /ses a Modal Mini Calendar, that allows !ou to use the Mini Calendar for 0uer! criteria
and Te#t 1o# Default -alues.
Call the Mini Calendar usin" a Function Call, with all of the ar"uments necessar! to run an! of the
three modes. $This is a "reat impro-ement o-er the first edition, since in the first edition, e-en the
simplest operation of the Mini Calendar required three lines of code, now all modes require one line of
code, to call the Mini Calendar $Thou"h with Mode ., !ou will then ha-e to open the form or quer!

Mini Calendar code is more streamlined and centrali5ed, for easier modification. $In the First edition,
the Mouse Mo-e E-ent, and *n Clic+ e-ents had all the code required to perform the necessar!
functions, now the *n Clic+ E-ent is a function call to a Module, and the Mouse Mo-e e-ent is a sub
function on the Mini Calendar Code 6a"e. This ma+es it much easier to chan"e the code to !our
li+in", for e#ample, if !ou wished to chan"e the Effect Chan"e when the Mouse mo-es o-er a Da!
1o#, !ou onl! ha-e to wor+ with that *ne Sub function on the Mini Calendar, instead of ha-in" to
chan"e .7 different sections of code.)
