-- WARNING FOR USE OF AMADA PRESS BRAKE TOOLING --
WARNING:Before using this tooling, please read the press brake operators manual carefully and
follow all applicable instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the
tooling which may splinter and cause bodily injury.
1. Please inspect the tooling thoroughly before use. If you find any defect or damage to the tooling, it should
not be used.
2. When changing the tooling, make sure that punch and die are aligned, and in case of the NC model,
re-calibrate the final depth position before using the new tooling
3. DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE TO ANY PART OF THE TOOLING IN EXCESS OFTHE MAXIMUM
ALLOWABLE PRESSURE. The maximum allowable pressure is specified on the largest tooling in the
package and is rated in kN or in TON/FOOT. The maximum allowable pressure can be calculated
as follows:
TOOL RATING x LENGTH OF PART BEING BENT = MAXIMUM ALLOWABLEPRESSURE
EXCEEDING THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TONNAGE FOR THE TOOLING CAN BE
VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY RESULT IN TOOLING DAMAGE OR MAY CAUSE
BODILY INJURY BY SPLINTERING.
The maximum allowable pressure may vary, depending on the punch and die used.
Always calculate the maximum pressure with the lowest rating of the punch or die.
(Calculation Example) Where the maximum allowable pressure specif ied on the tooling is:
ALLOWABLE TONNAGE : 1000kN/m (30TON/FOOT)
*When the length of the part to be bent is 0.5m, the maximum allowable pressure is:
1000kN/m x 0.5m=500kN
*When the length of the part to be bent is 0.5FOOT, the maximum allowable pressure is:
30TON/FOOT x 0.5FOOT=15TON
4. When using a 2V die, in order to promote safe operation and avoid injury to the operator in the event
of breakage of the tooling, place the V-opening to be used towards the rear of the press brake.
(If the maximum rated pressure is exceeded, and if the tooling fractures, it will fracture towards the
rear of the machine away from the operator. )

Caution
As for the Wing Bend, because the bend method is different from a usual V die, the bend expansion value and the amount etc. of the bend
correction depth are different. Therefore, when the automatic calculation function of NC (angle input mode) with the tool registration
function is used, the bend correction cannot be accurately done. Do not register the tool to the numerical control unit in the case where
the Wing Bend is used with the numerical controlled bending machine with the tool registration function. And, do not use the automatic
calculation function of the numerical control unit. It is necessary to use it in a direct mode. Moreover, set Z axis (height of the back gauge)
with the manual.
The case which a short dimension of the flange processes should note the interference of the pun ch tip
of the blade and the back gauge. As for the Wing Bend, wing pieces jump up in the bending. Use the pullback
function for the case where the back gauge gets on the die top surface.
The punch and the
back gauge
interfere.
