The

Thread of Redemption

Clear God
All things start with God. There is one
God existing eternally in three persons
(Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), having neither
beginning nor ending. Of God, the Bible says,
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom
and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are
His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For
who has known the mind of the Lord, or who
became His counselor? Or who has first given to
Him that it might be paid back to him again? For
from Him and through Him and to Him are all
things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
(Romans 11:33-36) The clear bead represents
the fact that we cannot see God because God
is spirit, and those who worship Him must
worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)
You will also notice that when you take your
bracelet into a dark place, the clear bead
begins to glow. This glowing represents the
Light of Gods glory that is embodied in the
person and work of Jesus Christ, because He
is the radiance of His glory and the exact
representation of His nature. (Hebrews 1:3)
This light is first seen in Genesis chapter one,
1

when God said Let there be light. In the gospel

according to John, he says of Jesus, In Him
was life, and the life was the Light of men. The
Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness
did not comprehend it. (John 1:4-5)
And just as Gods glory illuminated creation,
before the sun was created, John describes how
this is also the case in heaven when he says,
And the city has no need of the sun or of the
moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has
illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.
(Revelation 21:23)
Blue Creation
The very first verse in the Bible says,
In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) The blue
bead represents the Earth, which is part of
God's creation. The Bible speaks of The God
who made the world and all things in it, since He
is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in
temples made with hands; nor is He served by
human hands, as though He needed anything,
since He Himself gives to all people life and
breath and all things. (Acts 17: 24-25) God is
our creator and worthy of our worship.
2

Black Our Sin

Shortly after God created the first man
and woman, Adam and Eve, they
rebelled against God's command and therefore,
through one man sin entered into the world, and
death through sin, and so death spread to all
men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12) The
black bead represents the black heart of sin that
we all have inherited from Adam. We all know
that we sin when we lie, steal, disobey our
parents, or break any other of God's Ten
Commandments, for Everyone who practices
sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is
lawlessness. (1 John 3:4)
Orange Gods Wrath
Because we have disobeyed God, He
must punish us. After all, Shall not the
Judge of all the earth deal justly? (Genesis
18:25) Every one of us has the same problem,
because Among them we too all formerly lived
in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of
the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature
children of wrath, even as the rest. (Ephesians
2:3) The right response is to fear God for our
God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29), and
3

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of

wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10) The orange bead
represents the fire of God's judgment and
reminds you to cry out to God to rescue you, for
Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will
be saved. (Romans 10:13)
Red Christ's Blood (Payment for Sin)
But God, who is rich in mercy, has
provided a way of salvation for those
who would call out to Him in repentance toward
God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts
20:21) But when the fullness of the time came,
God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born
under the Law, so that He might redeem those
who were under the Law, that we might receive
the adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4-5)
God was in Christ reconciling the world to
Himself. (2 Corinthians 5:18) Jesus lived a
perfect life, was put to death by being nailed to a
cross, dying in the place of all those who would
repent (turn from sin) and believe the gospel.
(Mark 1:15) This was all according to Gods
purpose that He predestined to occur (Acts
4:28). For while we were still helpless, at the
right time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans
4

5:6) But the Lord was pleased to crush Him,

putting Him to grief, (Isaiah 53:10), so that He
would be just and the justifier of the one who
has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:26) The red bead
represents the blood of Jesusknowing that you
were not redeemed with perishable things like
silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited
from your forefathers, but with precious blood,
as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the
blood of Christ. (1 Peter 1:18-19)
But, not only has Christ died as a sacrifice for
the forgiveness of sins, but He has also been
raised from the dead as proof that God the
Father has acceptance His sacrifice. In fact, He
was declared the Son of God with power by the
resurrection from the dead, according to the
Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Romans 1:4) In the words of the apostle Paul,
For I delivered to you as of first importance
what I also received, that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures, and that He was
buried, and that He was raised on the third day
according to the Scriptures, andthat He
appeared to more than five hundred brethren at
one time. (1 Corinthians 15:3-6)
5

The truth of Christs resurrection is vitally

important, because if Christ has not been
raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also
is vain. (1 Corinthians 15:14) Therefore having
overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now
declaring to men that all people everywhere
should repent, because He has fixed a day in
which He will judge the world in righteousness
through a Man whom He has appointed, having
furnished proof to all men by raising Him from
the dead. (Acts 17:30-31)
White Christs Perfection and Our
Salvation (Justification)
The first aspect that the white bead
represents is the sinless life of Christ, who
committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in
His mouth. (1 Peter 2:22) It is by the sinless
perfection of Christ that the Bible proclaims
Jesus deity. It was Christ that said, No one is
good except God alone. (Mark 10:18) And this
perfection allowed Christ to be whom God
displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood
through faith. (Romans 3:25) This means that
Christ satisfied Gods wrath.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on
our behalf, so that we might become the
6

righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians

5:21) Secondly, the white bead represents the
righteousness that we receive from Christ's
death and resurrection once we have been
granted repentance (the ability to turn from sin)
(Acts 11:18), and been given the gift of faith
(Ephesians 2:8). Just as the beloved hymn says,
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a
crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
Green Growing in Holiness
(Sanctification)

For we are His workmanship, created

in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand so that we would walk in
them. (Ephesians 2:10) His divine power has
granted to us everything pertaining to life and
godliness. (2 Peter 1:3) The green bead
represents the fact that a follower of Jesus
Christ is commanded to continually grow in their
obedience toward God, who says, You shall be
holy, for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:16)
Gold Eternity in Heaven
(Glorification)

In Revelation 21:21, John says, the

street of the city was pure gold, like transparent
glass. The gold bead represents the future
7

reward in heaven, for all those who would turn

from their sins, in repentance, and put their faith
in Jesus Christ to save them. In John 5:24,
Jesus says, Truly, truly, I say to you, he who
hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me,
has eternal life, and does not come into
judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
Purple Christ Is King
And on His robe and on His thigh He
has a name written, KING OF KINGS,
AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16)
Jesus Christ is the King, and the purple bead
represents His royalty. God highly exalted Him,
and bestowed on Him the name which is above
every name, so that at the name of Jesus every
knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and
on earth and under the earth, and that every
tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
Those who are being save will worship Him
throughout all eternity, For God so loved the
world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but
have eternal life. For God did not send the Son
into the world to judge the world, but that the
world might be saved through Him. He who
8

believes in Him is not judged; he who does not

believe has been judged already, because he
has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18)
Knots Perseverance of the Saints
The knots, that hold the beads on
the bracelet, represent the security found in
Christ, for all those who would repent and
believe the gospel. (Mark 1:15). The Apostle
Paul said, For I am convinced that neither
death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor
things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height, nor depth, nor any other created
thing, will be able to separate us from the love of
God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:38-39)
In Psalm 139:5, the psalmist says to God, You
have enclosed me behind and before, And laid
Your hand upon me.
The Apostle Paul
describes it this way: For those whom He
foreknew, He also predestined to become
conformed to the image of His Son, so that He
would be the firstborn among many brethren;
and these whom He predestined, He also called;
and these whom He called, He also justified;
and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
9

(Romans 8:29-30) He chose us in Him before

the foundation of the world, that we would be
holy and blameless before Him. In love He
predestined us to adoption as sons through
Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind
intention of His will. (Ephesians 1:4-5) And as
many as had been appointed to eternal life
believed. (Acts 13:48)
Scarlet Thread Christ Is the Central
Theme of the Bible
Just as the scarlet red thread runs through
each bead of the gospel bracelet, Jesus Christ is
woven throughout the Bible from beginning to
end. Jesus testifies to this when in Luke 24:27,
beginning with Moses and with all the prophets,
He explained to them the things concerning
Himself in all the Scriptures. And there is
salvation in no one else; for there is no other
name under heaven that has been given among
men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
The truth is, Jesus Christ is at the center of all
things, For from Him and through Him and to
Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever.
Amen. (Romans 11:36)
10

In John 5:39, Jesus said to the religious

leaders, You search the Scriptures because you
think that in them you have eternal life; it is these
that testify about Me. The expressed purpose for
God delivering to us His Word in the Bible is so
that we could learn of His redemptive purpose in
Jesus Christ. The whole of the Bible chronicles
the life and works of our Lord, Jesus.
John 1:14 says, the Word became flesh, and
dwelt among us. At one point, a follower of
Jesus said to Him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life. Romans 10:17
says, faith comes from hearing, and hearing by
the word of Christ. And John 17:3 says, This is
eternal life, that they may know You, the only true
God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
