Superoxide Dismutase
(Superoxide Dismutase)
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) free radicals are
produced during normal cellular respiration within cells.
During periods of imbalance, excessive ROS may alter
cells by reacting with:
Lipids Proteins Cellular DNA.
xidative stress occurs when there
is a significant imbalance between
production of reactive oxygen species
and antioxidant defenses.

.
What is Oxidative Stress?
Considered the most important antioxidant of the body.
Combines reactive oxygen to form hydrogen peroxide,
which glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and catalase can reduce
to water and oxygen.
Indications for SOD supplementation:
Inflammatory conditions
of oxidative stress
Overall cellular health and
organ support.
Enzymatic antioxidants are considered to constitute
the bodys primary response to oxidative stress as
non-enzymatic antioxidants can be rapidly depleted.
SOD found in cytoplasm, mitochondria, and extracellular matrix.

HOWIS OXSTRINDIFFERENT?
Non-animal source of Superoxide
Dismutase (SOD) providing measurable
amounts of SOD.
Gluten-coated:
Gluten is derived from wheat protein
Facilitates transport of SOD across enteric
membranes
Helps up-regulate production of
endogenous SOD as well as other
primary enzymatic antioxidants.
