Chum Kiu (Searching for the Bridge)

Section 1:
1. Attention with both fists on the side at chest level.
2. Move both feet outward in a screwing motion into a goat stance.
3. Cross hands down (left over right).
4. Cross hands up (right over left).
5. Both hands became fist back to the side at chest level.

Section 2:
1. Execute left inner gate punch. Relaxed hand to left circling hand (huen sau). Then
back to the side at chest level.
2. Repeat on the other side.

Section 3:
1. Double knife hand forward to double bar hand (lan sau) with left over right hand
while pivoting 90 degrees to the left side facing west.
2. Double bar hand (lan sau) with left over right hand while pivoting 180 degrees to
the right side facing east.
3. Double bar hand (lan sau) with left over right hand while pivoting 180 degrees to
the left side facing west.
4. Double bar hand (lan sau) to double thrusting hand (bil jee) fully extended to the
left side facing west.
5. Double palm up hand (tan sau) facing west.
6. Left palm up hand (tan sau) with right palm touching left arm facing west. Right
palm up hand (tan sau) with left palm touching right arm facing west Left palm up
hand (tan sau) with right palm touching left arm facing west.
7. Right palm hit to front with left guard hand (wu sau) facing west. Left palm hit to
front with right guard hand (wu sau) facing west. Right palm hit to front with left
fist back to side facing west.
8. Pivot 180 degrees to the right facing east with right bar hand (lan sau) as if
striking a right elbow strike and with left fist at the side of the body.
9. Right bar hand (lan sau) with left palm up hand (tan sau) moving forward above
right arm. Pivot 90 degrees to the left facing north and do right wing block (bong
sau) with left guard hand (wu sau). Pivot 90 degrees to the right facing east and
do right bar hand (lan sau) with left fist to the side of the body at chest level.
(Repeat 2 times).
10. Left inner gate punch with right fist to the side of the body facing east.
11. Pivot 90 degrees to the left facing north then open the left hand to chopping knife
hand to the left side moving in an arc horizontally in front parallel to the ground
with right fist to the side of the body.
12. Left palm hit to front facing north. Right palm up hand (tan sau) moving forward
over left palm turning left fist to the side of the body at chest level.
13. Right relaxed hand to right circling hand (huen sau) to right fist back to the side of
the body at chest level facing north.
14. Repeat on the other side.

Section 4: (Moving West)


1. Pivot 90 degrees to the left side facing west then do left bar hand (lan sau) with
right fist to the side of the body. Then execute a left front kick which serves as a
forward stepping.
2. Right wing block (bong sau) facing north with left guard hand and body facing
west.
3. Both hands palm up left over right hand. Right wing block (bong sau) facing
north with left guard hand while shuffling the foot forward going west. (Repeat
one more time).
4. Right hammer fist or hook fist strike by twisting the body to the left side facing
west with left fist to the side of the body at chest level.
5. Pivot 90 degrees to the right facing north and execute a right palm hit to the front
facing north with left fist to the side of the body twisting to the north side.
6. Left palm up hand (tan sau) moving forward over right palm turning to right fist
to the side of the body. Left relaxed hand to left circling hand (huen sau) to left
fist back to the side of the body.
7. Repeat on the other side with movement going to east on initial location.

Section 5: (Moving West)


1. Pivot 90 degrees to the left facing west with both fist to the side of the body,
execute a left front kick which also serves as a forward stepping while doing a
double low wing block (bong sau) moving forward.
2. Double palm up hand (tan sau). Double low wing block (bong sau) while
shuffling the foot forward moving west. (Repeat one more time).
3. Double crane hand (hok sau) while right foot stepping forward joining the left
foot into a normal stance facing west.
4. Double palm down to double palm hit to front to double circling hand (huen sau)
then back to the side of the body facing west.
5. Pivot back step 180 degrees to the east.
6. Repeat on the other side moving to east on initial location.

Section 6:
1. Pivot 90 degrees to the left facing north with both fist to the side, execute a left
front kick landing the foot back to its initial location.
2. Left palm down (gum sau) with right guard hand (wu sau). Right palm down
(gum sau) with left guard hand (wu sau). Left palm down (gum sau) with right
guard hand (wu sau).
3. Left inner gate punch with right guard hand (wu sau). Right inner gate punch with
left guard hand (wu sau).
4. Left inner gate punch over right hand turning right fist to the side of the body.
Left relaxed hand to left circling hand (huen sau) then back to the side of the
body. Back to attention stance.
