Responsibilities as Sr. Design Engineer:

• To lead a team of Design Engineers and to handle design projects of various types (Vacuum
system, basically vacuum furnaces).

• Initial discussions with the customer for inputs and clarifications regarding projects.

• Design of pressure vessels, vacuum furnaces as per standards.

• Perform all the necessary calculations required for construction of vacuum systems.

• Calculations include- (Basically for Vacuum Furnaces)

• Hydraulic power pack requirement calculations,

• Water requirement calculations,

• Electric power requirement calculations,

• Chamber design calculations (pressure vessel design as per ASME)

• Analysis for pressure vessel on PV-Elite.

• Heat exchanger design calculations and blower selection.

• Conceptual level discussions and getting the concepts approved with supporting calculations from
customer.

• To develop on the concept and get the drawings done by the engineers under me (Working on
Solid Edge & AutoCAD).

• Take the complete responsibility of the design project and its successful and in time completion.
Previous Responsibilities Include:

• Design of Special Purpose Machines (SPM), hydraulic/pneumatic & mechanical fixtures for
SPMs.

• Select different Hydraulic/pneumatic elements for fixture & as per specific job requirements.

• To make 3D models, Assembly, detailed part & assembly drawings as per standard and company
defined practices using CAD tools (Solid Edge & Auto Cad 2006) and prepare technical part list
of fixtures & SPM components on SAP/ERP.

• Work as a resource base to the Assembly department.

• Interactions with customers on Product Development & Quality issues and clarify on their
requirements.

• Interact with suppliers and provide support to the procurement and production planning
department.
Projects Handled:
Presently at Hind High Vacuum Company Pvt. Ltd. Since Nov. 2008, till date.

• Design of vacuum heat treatment furnace, for GTRE, Bangalore.


Main features:
• Horizontal furnace, designed for vacuum pressure of 10-6 mbars and a positive pressure of
1.5bars.

• Gas quenching-external type.

• Hot Zone-all metallic, made Molybdenum and Stainless steel (heat insulation). Hot zone
cage is of hood type.

• Heat Exchanger-Tube in shell type.

• Blower & Blower motor-Standard motor in a sealed chamber.

• Design of Vacuum Leakage testing Oven, For EPCOS, Nasik.


Main features:
• Orthorhombic two compartments, designed for a vacuum pressure of 10-6 mbar and no
positive pressure.

• Double compartment chamber, two compartments isolated both for heat and mass transfer.

• Both compartments operating simultaneously & independently.

• External forced cooling.

• Hot zone all metallic, stainless steel insulation.

• Heating by tubular heater.

• Heat Exchanger-Tube in shell type.

• Blower & Blower motor-Standard motor modified for vacuum application(canned motor)
• Design of S-Band processing oven for BEL, Bangalore.
Main features:
• Vertical furnace designed for vacuum pressure of 10-3 mbars.

• Chamber is a two piece construction, for variable job sizes.

• Operated by an over head crane mounted on a mono-rail structure.

• Hot zone all metallic, stainless steel insulation.

• Heating by tubular heater.

• Design of Ampoule Pump Stand, for BHEL, Bangalore.

• Design of Vacuum Muffle Furnace, support structure for BARC, Mumbai.

At TAL Manufacturing solutions limited, from 1st of Dec. 2007 to 23th October 2008as a Design
Engineer.

Design of Fixture for 2.2 Litres, Dicor Engine, Barrel Boring Machine.
Client: TATA Motors.

At Special Purpose Machines India Ltd. as Design Engineer in between Jan 2006 and November
2007.
1. Design of Oscillation cum Leak testing machine for Assembled cylinder head of the DV4 Engine.
Client: - Ford India Ltd.
2. Design of a leak testing machine for a crank case of a three cylinder engine.
Client: - Suzuki Power train India Ltd.
3. Design of a leak testing machine for cylinder blocks.
Client: - KOEL (End customer), Kennametal India Ltd.

At Pragathi Design Center, Peenya Industrial Area, Bangalore, between July 2004 & December
2005.
1. Design of connecting rod fixture assembly for honing operation.
