The Head Nurse is the person in charge of something; a director or a leader that
guides in developing objectives and renders quality care to the patient and encourages the
staff to share in the process.
OBJECTIVES
General Objective:
As a student nurse; she will be able to develop the potential of being a leader by
improving her skills in leadership and serve as a model to her subordinates and to ensure that
her patients receives care which is complete and satisfying in every aspect.
Specific Objectives:
2. To stimulate her staff or subordinate to see possibilities for improvement in patient care.
3. Manage the flow of activities done by her subordinate for improvement and help them
attain their goal in giving quality care that is needed by their patient.
4. To develop her skills in decision-making and other qualities needed to be a good nurse.
Subordinates
General Objective:
As a nursing student, he/she will improve more on her knowledge, attitudes and skills
through working in the training are with fellow students and recognize the value of having a
director.
Specific Objectives
1. Be able to gather data and use the nursing process in meeting the needs of the
patient.
The Head Nurse is immediately responsible for providing good nursing for the patients on her
division.
1. They have the responsibility to orient her staff about the systems of service done in
her division.
3. Has the responsibility to know the needs of patients and qualifications of her staff to meet
their needs.
4. Has the responsibility to teach her staff and keep before them the standard of quality
care.
6. Inform her staff of the likely cause of errors and defects and preventive measures
necessary.
7. To help her staff members learn to deal effectively with patient’s questions, problems and
needs.
