&s soon as the change 'egins in the life of a (o)an*s soul her
a'ilit+ for s#iritual acce#tance (ill increase, and during this ti)e
all (orldl+ e-#eriences can ha$e a retros#ecti$e effect on the
state of the soul. For a #eriod of +ears certain la(s of nature are
influencing the hu)an 'od+ such that it cannot counteract the)
(ithout da)aging itself .... .his co)#ulsion is effecti$el+
necessar+ in order to #reser$e the hu)an 'eing*s se-ualit+
(hich/ in turn/ is a'solutel+ essential for #rocreation.
As long as this instinct is clearly expressing itself, as long
as the person is always trying to accommodate it, the
souls desire for spiritual nourishment will not voice
itself ....
.his 'eco)es )ore understanda'le as the hu)an 'eing*s desire
for #h+sical fulfil)ent of the natural instinct decreases. This
very desire automatically ties the human being to earth as
if he was chained .... he is unable to ascend spiritually,
and therefore the development of his soul becomes
doubtful.
Consequently, no pure, Godpleasing relationship can ever
be established from earth to the spiritual world as long as
the bodys desire still aims to fulfil its natural instinct,
because these two worlds do not harmonise with each
other.
&lthough God 0i)self has #laced this natural instinct into the
hu)an 'eing he also has the o#tion to resist it voluntarily.
0o(e$er/ (hen #eo#le indulge in it (ithout hesitation the souls
ascent will be obstructed .... (hereas e$er+ resistance to this
desire (ill also loosen the soul*s chains ....
And therefore it is extraordinary beneficial when the
human being fights his craving during that time.
Giving way to this instinct is only intended by God for the
purpose of creating a new human being/ other(ise e$er+
#erson should )a1e an effort to li$e a #ure life since he (ill
#ro$ide the soul (ith undrea)t of s#iritual ad$antages.
!nce this physical impulse is overcome, i.e. once it has 'een
successfull+ resisted and thus the fulfil)ent of 'odil+ lust is no
longer 'anishing the soul in a state of constraint/ it is free for its
flight of ascent/ and it will then be able to ma"e uninhibited
contact with the spiritual world.
.he hu)an 'eing (as #ro$ided (ith e$er+ o##osition in order to
o$erco)e it in life/ and it is far )ore co))enda'le to ha$e
resisted and defied the (orld (ith all its o##ositions than to ha$e
deli'eratel+ a$oided it. .he Father in hea$en 1no(s of e$er+one*s
desire and the degree of lo$e for 0i)/ conse2uentl+ 0e (ill also
#ro$ide 0is children (ith trials in order to test their (ill of
resistance/ and this should to 'e sufficient for +ou .... !Brea1%
& natural li)it has 'een set (hen the strength of resistance is
threatening to (ane/ and then the soul can e-#ect hel# if it is too
(ea1 to stand fir) '+ itself.
A womans purpose in life )ainl+ in$ol$es caring and
su##orti$e (or1/ and she recei$es her strength to do so in the
sa)e #ro#ortion as she is e-#ressing her lo$e/ and thus a s#here
of acti$it+ e-ists es#eciall+ for the (o)an on earth (hich offers
the soul a)#le o##ortunit+ to )ature. .here is no need to tightl+
li)it her duties in order to li$e for the 3ord*s #leasure in seclusion
on earth.
Anyone who wants to wor" to a greater extent in the
service of neighbourly love will also be offered adequate
opportunity for it in the outside world. 4t is therefore not
es#eciall+ 'eneficial for the soul if a field of dut+ is i)#osed on
the #erson (hich is in fact conscientiousl+ carried out 'ut onl+ as
a 1ind of #ersonal o'ligation .... under conditions (hich e-clude a
refusal or non5co)#liance of this fulfil)ent of dut+/ and therefore

not consider that everyone can utilise and develop his
earthly life in the midst of worldly commotion and that he
will be offered more than enough opportunities for active
