Worksheets will be based on the areas where most
students have difficulties.
The difficulty areas are identified from the first term paper
analysis
Questions will be taken from Cambridge past papers and
other relevant papers ( example: IGCSE, GCE etc)
The questions selected will be of different levels of
thinking, such as application, recall, comprehension,
investigation, deduction and calculations.
Worksheets will be prepared by the department teachers
and approved by the leading teacher at least 3 days in
advance.



Review and feedback

There will be at least 1 review meeting per week
(Wednesday, 18.45 hrs), where the contents for the
upcoming week will be discussed and a follow up of the
previous week will be done.
Progress of the students will be monitored by giving a pop
quiz at the start of the coaching session. And the quiz will
be based on the previous days content.
Students will be given a feedback on their progress.
This can be done by having a performance progress chart
on each students notebook. So that the students will
know where they stand on a particular topic/concept.

Time and venue

The coaching sessions will take place in the resource
room (chem. Lab) after school hours.
3 days a week from 12.30 -13.30 hrs ( Monday,
Wednesday and Thursday)

How is monitoring and evaluation on the action plan is

3.Implementation Teach and review.
Teaching sessions will be carried out by grade 9 teachers
(two), grade 10 teacher (one) and the leading teacher.
The lowest ability group (16 students) with discipline

problems will be handled by the leading teacher. The
remaining lowest ability group (8 students) who needs
special attention will be handled by the grade 10
chemistry teacher. The two average groups (16 students
per group) will be handled by grade 9 teachers.

At the end of every session there will be a group reflection
regarding the sessions strength and weakness. The
strengths and weakness shared by the teachers will be
recorded by the leading teacher. These noted strengths
and weakness will be taken into account in the planning
of the next weeks lessons.

Progress of the students will be monitored by giving a
small quiz per week (first day of every week). The quiz
will be based on the content covered in the previous
week.
The papers will be collected and marked
Students will be given a feedback on their performance.

This can be done by having a performance progress chart
on each students notebook. So that the students will
know where they stand on a particular topic/concept.

Program progress will be monitored based on students
quiz results and these results will be shared with the top
management in the SMT meetings held every week.

Task for the group members will be allocated with the
help of the chemistry teacher for that particular class.
Students will be given a time frame to complete the
lesson preparation after school hours in their own time.
The work progress of the group will be monitored at
regular time intervals and the prepared materials proof
read and checked by the teachers.
The presentations will be done during chemistry period
(per week 1 group will present on different topics).
Worksheets will be given to evaluate the students
understanding of the lesson at the end of the
presentations.
The remaining students will comment on the lesson
through the feedback forms provided by the once they

An overall feedback can be given to the group members
in the next chemistry period.
This plan will be done for the top achievers only.
The plan will be carried out concurrently with the

The enrichment classes will be carried out during the
normal session timings since they are grouped according
to the headcount data.

Preparation of material

Worksheets will be based on the all areas of the
chemistry syllabus
Questions will be selected from Cambridge past papers
and other relevant papers ( example: IGCSE, GCE etc)
The questions selected will be of different levels of
thinking, mostly application, deduction and investigation,
with few recall and comprehension questions
Questions selected will be related to everyday life.

Selection of questions will be done by the leading teacher
with the help of other chemistry teachers in the
department during the subject coordination meetings.

Chemistry grade 10 teachers.

hour assessment paper after every two weeks of the
enrichment sessions. ( Three tests for the whole program)
The paper will comprise of questions from the whole
chemistry syllabus.

on each students notebook. So that the students will
know where they stand on a particular topic/concept.

Program progress will be monitored based on students
assessment results and the assessments results will be
shared with the top management in the SMT meetings
