Tasting Notes

Allagash White ABV: 5.2%

Allagash White is a light, easy, refreshing witbier brewed in the Belgian tradition. This ale is brewed with a
generous portion of wheat and a variety of spices, making it complex, but still very approachable to even the
newest of beer drinkers. This beer is perfect to be paired with cheeses such as brie, gouda, cheddar, and goat.
Cured meats will also go well with this beer.

Allagash Victor ABV: 9.0%

The Victor is an ale created with the use of over 100 pounds of crushed chancellor grapes. The brewers then add
pilsner malt, fuggle hops, and finish it off with a wine yeast strain. The use of red wine will give it an
interesting body, the pilsner malt will make it clean and refreshing, and the fuggle hops will give it a slight
bitter finish, similar to an English Pale Ale. All the ingredients listed above create flavors of light fruit,
coriander, and although this ale is used with red wine grapes, the flavor is more like a big bodied white like
viognier, chardonnay or verdehlo which displays a copperish hue.

Allagash Fluxus ABV: 8.3%

Allagash Fluxus is a beer of continuous change. This years rendition is the interesting combination of sweet
potato and black pepper. It is brewed as a traditional saison with the use of Belgian farmhouse yeast, so right off
the bat we know this beer will have a dry finish. The sweet potatoes will transform this ale from a pale golden
hue to a rich, vibrant orange color, then adding more body and complexity to the body of the beer. The
combination of black pepper and the generous amount of hops they add in the kettle will create a warming
effect on the palate, creating a dominate flavor of spicy citrus and papaya.

Allagash Hugh Malone ABV: 8.5%

Allagash Hugh Malone is their take on a Belgian IPA. The style is uniquely refreshing, while satisfying those
who crave the bitter, floral taste of the hops. The Hugh Malone starts off with the use of pale crystal malts and
English 2 row malts, creating an understated sweetness. A dominant flavor of grapefruit and citrus forms in the
flavor of the beer with the use of simcoe; often creating the worlds finest and expensive India Pale Ales. Rather
than finishing it with basic American ale yeast, they simply substitute Belgian yeast to give a clean, crisp, fruit-
malt finish.

Allagash Black ABV: 7.5%

The Black is a Belgian stout created with the use of wheat and oats, Belgian candi sugar, and roasted malts.
Normally a stouts main source of texture is created with basic or roasted malt, since this one used wheat and
oat it will have a deliciously smooth mouthfeel. The roasted malts will bring the chocolate and roast coffee
flavors in the beer to life. What separates the Black from other stouts is that this beer is once again finished with
Belgian yeast.

Allagash Interlude ABV: 9.5%

Allagash Interlude is an American Wild Ale that gives off flavors of pear, green apple, graham cracker, and
apricot, giving it a tart fruit finish. Then, the Interlude is aged in French Merlot and Syrah oak barrels, adding a
tannic, dry plum characteristic to the beer.
