Regular Public Meeting Agenda - DRAFT

September 23, 2014

The Shoreham-Wading River Central School District Board of Education is the authorized agency responsible for
setting educational policy in the District. It consists of seven members who each serve three-year terms and receive no
salary or other financial compensation.

The meetings, except for Executive Sessions, are held before the public. The Board of Education may convene to
Executive Session immediately after opening the meeting. At the end of the Executive Session, the Board of Education
will re-convene to the Regular Meeting.

Arrival and departure times of the Board of Education members shall be noted in the minutes and within the order of
events.

A maximum of half hour will be allocated for agenda items Statements of Residents with a three minute limit per
individual. Each speaker must be a resident of the District. Residents wishing to make comments or raise questions
shall state their name and address. Public discussion is prohibited on matters relating to staff and students at which
their reputation, privacy, or rights to due process or the rights of others to due process, could be in some way violated.

Residents will be permitted to participate in Board of Education discussion and agenda item Discussion, however
Board of Education members will speak first. Each resident will be limited to one input with a two minute maximum. A
time limit for residents discussion will be no more than 10 minutes unless a majority of the Board wants to extend the
time due to the nature of the topic. Residents will address the Board and not each other during this discussion.

Each Board Member voting on a motion shall be permitted to state the reason for doing so and the statement shall be
noted in the minutes.

The public, in its comments, will refrain from making any direct references to student or staff members. Such
references to individual students or staff members are inappropriate in a public forum and should instead be conducted
in private conversation with an appropriate member of the staff.

#1415-048 SWRAA Memorandum of Agreement to Establish a Stipend for Administrator(s) of the High School
Alternati ve Program:
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Agreement was fully executed by the Shoreham-Wading River Administrators
Association (SWRAA) President and the Superintendent of Schools; therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby
ratifies the attached Memorandum of Agreement between the District and SWRAA to establish a stipend for an
Administrator(s) of the High School Alternative Program for the 2014-2015 school year.

#1415-049 Andrew Herman Contract:
RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby
approves a contract between the District and Andrew Herman to conduct a presentation for student athletes
and their families entitled, College Admission for the Student Athlete on November 20, 2014 at a fee of
$550.00. The President of the Board is authorized to sign this contract and thereby signify the Boards
acceptance to the agreement.

#1415-050 National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-National Conference:
RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby
approves a request by Mr. Daniel Holtzman, Principal of SWR High School, for an overnight / out-of-state trip
to Nashville, Tennessee, from October 26 29, 2014 to allow a student to participate in the National
Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-National Conference at a cost to the District of $3,018.00.

#1415-051 T-Shirts with Screenings for the 2014-2015 School Year Bid Award:
WHEREAS, requests for bids were advertised for T-Shirts with Screenings for the 2014-2015 School Year in
our two (2) official newspapers and opened on August 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM; and

WHEREAS, bids were sent to four (4) vendors received from three (3) vendors; and

WHEREAS, such bids have been reviewed by the Purchasing Agent, the Coordinator of Community Programs
and the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent, the Coordinator of Community Programs and the Assistant Superintendent
for Finance and Operations have recommended an item award to the lowest responsible bidders meeting the
specifications; therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District awards
the bid for T-Shirts with Screenings for the 2014-2015 School Year be awarded to the following vendors:

1. Port J efferson Sporting Goods of Port J efferson Station, New York
For items 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18 and 19 Total $1,746.30

2. Artisan Ink of Manchester, CT
For items 1, 4, 11, 12, 16 and 20 Total $8,616.00

3. Woods Mens and Boys Clothing of Brentwood, NY
For items 3 and 7 Total $1,113.75

#1415-052 Approval of Community Programs Early Fall 2014:
RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves
the attached operation, dates and fees for the Community Programs Early Fall 2014 Programs and authorizes
the District to appropriate the necessary funds to operate same.
