TEACHING LEARNING RESOURCES 1. Lap top. 2. Newspaper
TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS Introduction (Teacher shows a sheet of newspaper and points to a graph.)
Teacher: What is this? (Students remain silent.) Teacher: Okay, This is called a graph. Today we are going to learn about different types of graphs. Activity-1 (Teacher shows the first graph again) Teacher: What can you see in this graph? Student: Bars, axis Teacher: Yes, this diagram constitutes bars, isnt it? So they are called bar diagram. Now tell me the peculiarities of these bars. Student: They are of same width and different length and also distance between each bar is same. Teacher: Yes, good. Activity-2 (Teacher then shows a bar diagram)
Teacher: You know about x-axis and y-axis, right? Student: Yes teacher. Teacher: So what is given in x-axis? 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 8A 8B 8C 8D 8E Student: Classes in a school. Teacher: Good. And in the y-axis? Student: Number of students. Teacher: Very good. Now we are going to draw a bar diagram. (Teacher gives a data) Family Income A 1500 B 2000 C 1000 D 3000
Teacher: So first you draw the axis.
Teacher: Now take the family along the x-axis and income along y- axis. X
y Family Teacher: Now mark on y-axis 1000, 2000, 3000.. Here we required the value up to 3000. So mark up to 3000. Student: x 3000
2000
1000
Family Teacher: Now for family A, mark between 1000 and 2000.
Now draw a rectangular bar up to x axis. X 3000
2000
1000 A Teacher: Likewise complete the data. Student: x
3000
2000
1000 0 A B C D
Activity -3 Teacher: Now do this question by yourself. Name Mark Anju 50 Chinch 30 Manju 20 Kumar 10
Student:
Follow up activity Teacher: Next question is a follow up activity. (Teacher gives the data.)
