1) Subject of this agreement is the low-voltage, low-current MOS transistor model for
circuit simulation called "EKV MOST Model" as developed, implemented and tested by the
Electronics Laboratory (LEG) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). EPFL-
LEG owns the right to distribute the EKV MOST model.
2) The EKV MOST model is distributed via e-mail as a model kit including a generic C
source code and the related documentation in PostScript (.ps) or Acrobat format (.pdf).
The EKV MOST model is available to all interested parties for circuit simulation for
both commercial and non-commercial applications.
3) The EKV MOST model kit is distributed as is, completely without warranty or service
support. Neither the EPFL-LEG, nor its employees are liable for the condition or
performance of the software.
4) The EPFL-LEG grants the licensee the non-exclusive right to modify, copy,
redistribute the source code and documentation, uniquely within the licensee's
organization. Compiled code executables may be distributed within or outside the
licensee's organization. Distribution rights are subject to the following conditions:
(a) The licensee agrees not to charge for the EKV MOST model itself. The licensee may,
however, charge for additions, extensions, or support.
(b) In any product including the software, the licensee agrees to acknowledge the
research group that developed the software, namely the group at EPFL-LEG. This
acknowledgment shall appear in the product documentation.
(c) The licensee agrees to reproduce any copyright notice which appears in the
software and documentation provided under this agreement in any copy or modification of
such made available to others by licensee.
(d) In order to protect the reputation of the model and to ensure consistency across
implementations, the licensee must obtain written authorization from EPFL-LEG before
using the name "EKV" in any form including documentation, literature and publicity.
This authorization will be granted subject to objective tests carried out at the EPFL-
LEG.
5) The licensee agrees to inform EPFL-LEG of modifications he brings to the original
EKV MOST model and the related code. In particular, the licensee undertakes to provide
the EPFL-LEG with a copy of the EKV source code corresponding to object code in
commercially distributed executables.
6) The licensee agrees to send the result of the evaluation of the EKV MOST model in
the form of a report stating the reasons for which he decided to use or not use the
model, within 12 months from the date of obtention of the model kit.
