Finale Ligure Superenduro 2014 powered by SRAM

Round 7 - Enduro World Series
October 4-5, 2014

MESSAGE FROM EVENT DIRECTOR
Its incredibly exciting to bring the EWS for the second year in a row to Finale Ligure, the fishing net.
Its the metaphor we use when we talk about the village that has become the outdoor capital of the
Riviera. The hills diving their feet into the Mediterranean sea have bones of solid limestone rock, veins
and arteries of twisty singletrack trails that go back to 3000 B.C. The Finale net was already active at that
time. A place where you want to live that has a lot to give. The more recent history of Finale is the
history of free climbing in south Europe as well as the history of mountain biking since it started here in
Europe. I moved to Finale in 1994 to work in the bike industry and, yes, Im one of the many people
caught by the Finale net. You cannot really explain why Finale is Finale, but every time you spend too
much time away your brain, your heart and your body start to feel its time for another visit. Many of the
key people in the Finale Outdoor scene today come from different cities, regions and countries, all caught
by the Finale net. Among them is Riccardo, the energetic local that organized the very first final round of
the Superenduro in 2008. Since then, in over seven editions of the Finalenduro, 25 different trails have
been selected, cleaned and raced on by the fastest riders in the world. This year the local organization,
with the help of the outdoor community, have prepared six brand new stages, never ridden before, that
will completely blow your mind. A perfect representation of the kind of riding you can expect in Finale, all
year long. I want to wish all riders a great time in Finale, riding trails, eating gelato and hanging out in
the beautiful village. Just be aware that spending time in Finale can really be dangerous, the net is ready
to catch you!

MESSAGE FROM ENDURO WORLD SERIES DIRECTOR

Wow. What a year, what a season and what an amazing adventure 2014 has been. As we roll into Finale
it feels like only a few weeks ago that we were driving up a dusty track road to the base of the volcano in
Nevados, Chile to kick start our second season. Since then weve met some amazing people, seen racing
come down to a handful of seconds, experienced epic climbs, eternal singletrack, intense heat and even
snow. Weve seen pros coach kids and amateurs ride alongside their heroes, season ending injuries and
break through performances from new faces. Its been a rollercoaster and Im proud to have shared it
with all of you.
Its been a year of change, of growth and of development for enduro for so many of us and I cant think
of a better way to finish the year than to stick our feet in the sand, fill our lungs with sea air and ride the
beautifully crafted trails of the iconic Finale Ligure.
Alongside the local organization, I welcome you all to our seventh and final round for 2014 and I hope
that we all have a great weekend of riding, racing and the crowning of our 2014 World Champions.
I hope to see you all out on the trail or on the beach,

Chris Ball
