ABSTRACT
The Heterogeneous Face Recognition using digital imaging techniques like Gabor flter and
SV has led to the robustness in !attern Recognition" The main reason for the decrease in
changes in a##earance of the user is due to the factors such as ageing, beard gro$th, sun tan"
Heterogeneous face recognition in%ol%es matching t$o face images from alternate imaging
aesthetic forms, such as an infrared image to a #hotogra#h or a sketch to a #hotogra#h" &
generic HFR frame$ork is #ro#osed in $hich both #robe and gallery images are re#resented in
terms of nonlinear similarities to a collection of #rototy#e face images" The #rototy#e sub'ects
ha%e an image in each modality (#robe and gallery), and the similarity bet$een an image and
#rototy#e images are measured" The features of this nonlinear #rototy#e are #ro'ected into a
linear discriminant subs#ace $hich increases the accuracy of this nonlinear #rototy#e
re#resentation" *n HFR frame$ork $e introduce Random sam#ling to control the small sam#le
si+e #roblem $hich arises as a challenge" The e,cellence of the #ro#osed a##roach is
demonstrated in the e,#eriment result as #rototy#e random subs#ace" !re%ious studies ha%e
sho$n that the accuracy of Face Recognition Systems (FRSs) decreases $ith the time ela#sed
bet$een enrollments and testing" So $e ha%e #ro#osed Gabor flter along $ith SV for Feature
-,traction and Robustness"

CONCLUSION
5e ha%e #resented a hybrid frame$ork for face recognition based on local binary
!attern and multi#le Gabor flter" 2esigning a good flter and classifer is a crucial ste# for any
successful face recognition system" &n a%erage recognition rate of (>:"8?@) is achie%ed under
en%ironmental %ariations" This means that our a##roach achie%es a high recognition rate
com#ared to other a##roaches in #ublished literature" Asing multi#le Gabor flters rendered
the method robust to face %ariations because each flter has s#ecifc #ro#erty to e,tract" *n
addition using generali+ation #ro#erty of bagging classifer increased the recognition rate
in #resence of face class %ariations" 5e belie%e that face recognition under %arying
conditions is still an interesting area of research, and $e antici#ate that there $ill be many
further ad%ances in this area"
FUTURE WORK
*m#ro%ing recognition rate by modifying the classifer using S#eeded u# Robust Features (SARF)"
&utomatic attendance system $here $e use .TV camera for recording" Video #rocessing
recognition system $hich enables easy and quick access"
