To mark your vote
Review your ballot:
If you vote for more candidates than allowed, or if you vote both Yes and No

Important Voter Information
THE CANDIDATE STATEMENTS ARE PRINTED EXACTLY AS SUBMITTED BY THE CANDIDATE.
STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
U.S. REPRESENTATIVE, 8TH DISTRICT
PAUL COOK
Occupation: United States Representative
Education and Qualifications: Two years ago, as a retired COLONEL
with 26 years of service in the US Marine Corps, I asked for your
trust to become your Congressman. Having been awarded the Bronze
Star and two Purple Hearts for my time in Vietnam, I witnessed great
sacrifices by my fellow Americans and pledged to ensure their efforts
would not be in vain.
As your Congressman, Ive honored that commitment by fighting for
a balanced budget, for our veterans, to keep jobs in America, and to
defend our way of life.
I fought to pass a balanced budget plan to reduce the deficit by $4.6
trillion over the next ten years, strengthen Americas economy, and
protect Medicare for seniors. I voted over ten times to defund, delay,
and replace Obamacare.
I fought to restore the Cost of Living Adjustment for ALL veterans
and for the in-state college tuition rate they deserve. I supported the
Keystone pipeline because it would put 20,000 Americans to work.
In Inyo County, Ive worked to ensure that public lands are used for
the public good. That means allowing use of places like Death Valley
National Park for events and races which help our local economy.
Im honored my work has earned the endorsements of US
Representative Tom McClintock, Inyo County Sheriff Bill Lutze, and
Inyo County Board of Supervisors Chairman Rick Pucci.
Weve accomplished a great deal, but we cannot stop here. With your
trust and vote, Ill keep fighting for you in Congress

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
STATE SENATOR, 8TH DISTRICT
TOM BERRYHILL AGE: 60
Occupation: Farmer/Legislator
Education and Qualifications: As a fourth generation Central Valley
farmer and independent businessman, Im proud so many community
leaders and respected organizations want me re-elected to the State
Senate. A few examples: Im endorsed by Fresno County Sheriff Margaret
Mims, the California Grape & Tree Fruit League President Barry Bidwell
and CDF Firefighters, the largest fire department in the state.
During my service, I wrote legislation that would end environmental
regulatory abuses and stop frivolous lawsuits that are costing our Valley
jobs. In fact, the (CSBA) California Small Business Association named
me the 2013 Senate Legislator of the Year.
One important law I authored cracked down on metal theft, a serious
problem thats plaguing the Central Valley and costing farmers,
businesses, local government and public schools millions of dollars per
year in property damage.
I have fought to build more water storage facilities, stop the early release
of dangerous convicts and opposed tax hikes. I was also appointed
chairman of the bi-partisan Rural Caucus thats worked to help our
agricultural economy. Additionally, I authored and co-sponsored bills
to curtail out of control public pensions, provide more career and technical
education training programs, require a state budget spending cap and
conserve prime farmland.
In the past, Ive received the California Rifle and Pistol Association
Legislator of the Year award, the American Nurses Association California
Legislator of the Year award and the Friends of California Community
Colleges award.
Most important, Im happily married to my wife, Loretta, and I have two
beautiful daughters. Visit www.tomberryhill.com

14-VOTE (1114)
Where do I Vote?
Your polling place is printed on the back cover of this Sample Ballot Pamphlet. Be sure to
check this as polling locations change from one election to the next.
I have lived at the same address for years but my Polling Place changed.
Why?
Each election has a unique combination of districts which could make it necessary to
change your polling place.
What time does my Polling Place Open and Close on Election Day?
The polling place opens at 7:00 am and closes at 8:00 pm.
I requested and received a Vote-by-Mail Ballot, but I have decided to Vote
at the Polls. What do I do with the Vote-by-Mail Ballot?
Take the unvoted vote-by-mail ballot in the return envelope with you to the polls and give it
to a Precinct Officer. You will be issued a precinct ballot.
Why must I announce my name out loud and sign my name at the Polling
Place?
The California Elections Code requires it. By signing, you are swearing you are that
person.
Why is a list of voters names, addresses and telephone numbers posted
at the Polling Place?
The California Elections Code 14202 requires a list of voters to be posted at each polling
place.
Can I take my Sample Ballot Pamphlet into the Voting Booth?
Yes. Completing your choices on your Sample Ballot before going to the polls will help you
when voting and will help eliminate long lines.
Do I have to show identification at the Polling Place to Vote?
If you are a first time voter in Inyo County, you will be required to show identification to
