The next Saturday, September 13 in LAquila will start RE_ACTO Fest: a month-long event in which will alternate some of

the most important street artist of the Roman and national scene. An event that aims to give something back to a city and
a society torn apart by 2009s earthquake and which deserves much more than what has been done in recent years. A
way to react, as already declared in the name, to the state of abandonment in which it has been left an entire community.
For this reason, for the attempt to put back art at the center through its social and civic values, Street Art Romahas
decided to actively support the project. Starting with this post and in the next weeks well tell you the protagonists of
RE_ACTO Fest and the realization of the walls. And we hope that you will want to make this trip in art and in the streets
along with us!

But now, not to bore you, I leave you with the words of the curator of RE_ACTO Fest, Luca Ximenes, which some of you
surely know under the pseudonym of DesX.
An event that will bring Street Art at LAquila. This will be the RE_ACTO Fest which will take place between September
13 and October 12 and will be attended by internationally renowned artists who will offer a varied panorama of the
different styles and practices that make up this particular artistic movement, which has been only very recently
recognized as such.
The selected artists will bring in LAquila their personal interpretations of an art that is characterized mainly by the
support it uses. The use of the wall, either public or private, represents the real conceptual revolution in street art. In fact,
this has allowed art to escape from the indoors and privileged spaces where it was holed up and reverse the relationship
between artist and spectator (where it is no longer the spectator that is activated to enjoy it, but the artist who, working
for the street, impose his art and turns the simple pass-through into a user). And its always the wall-support that
permeates this form of art with disruptive social value.
The refunctionalization even more than the redevelopment transforms public space (dormitory quarters, service
infrastructure such as motorway pylons, abandoned and dilapidated buildings) into places of social interaction, vehicles
of culture and artistic sensibility, returning them to the community. This is the philosophy behind the event, a philosophy
that in our area, subdued by the earthquake and now five years after the event, disintegrated in its social and territorial
composition, disoriented in an attempt to rebuild its own identity, takes on a particularly significant value.
The name RE_ACTO comes a bit from here, as a street distortion of REACT, this exhibition aims, ambitiously, to be a
way to submerge LAquila with creativity, rethinking the public space to set the focus of the post-seismic processing on
sociality and the possibility of expression. The event will also feature events such as themed conferences, a group show,
live painting events open to the community, dj-sets and a selection of live music with the best representatives of the
Italian indie scene.
RE_ACTO Fest is patronized by Comune dellAquila and Ordine degli Architetti de LAquila, and is supported by Quotidiano
NewsTown, a.DNA project, Abruzzo HH Festival, Zulu Fashion and Street Art Roma

Il prossimo sabato 13 Settembre a LAquila partir RE_ACTO Fest: un evento lungo un mese in cui si alterneranno alcuni
tra i pi importanti street artist della scena romana e nazionale. Un evento che si propone di restituire qualcosa a una
citt e a una societ lacerate dal terremoto del 2009 e che merita molto pi di quanto stato fatto in questi anni. Un
modo per reagire, come dichiarato gi nel nome, allo stato di abbandono in cui stata lasciata unintera comunit. Ed
per questo, per il tentativo di rimettere larte al centro mediante la sua valenza sociale e civica, che Street Art Roma ha
deciso di sostenere attivamente il progetto. A partire da questo post e nelle prossime settimane vi racconteremo i
protagonisti di RE_ACTO Fest e la realizzazione dei muri. E speriamo che vorrete fare questo viaggio nellarte e nelle
strade insieme a noi!

Una rassegna che porter la Street Art a LAquila. Questo sar il RE_ACTO Fest che si terr tra il 13 Settembre e il 12
Ottobre e vedr la presenza di artisti di fama internazionale che offriranno un panorama variegato dei diversi stili e
pratiche che compongono questo particolare movimento artistico, che solo da pochissimo viene riconosciuto come tale.
Gli artisti selezionati porteranno a LAquila le loro personali interpretazioni di unarte che si caratterizza prevalentemente
per il supporto che utilizza. Lutilizzo del muro, pubblico o privato che sia, rappresenta la vera rivoluzione concettuale
della street art. questo, infatti, che ha permesso allarte di uscire dai luoghi chiusi e privilegiati in cui era asserragliata e
di invertire il rapporto tra artista e fruitore dellopera (laddove non pi il fruitore dellopera che si attiva per goderne, ma
lartista che lavorando per la strada impone la sua arte e rende fruitore il semplice passante). Ed sempre il supporto-
muro che permea questa forma darte di un valore sociale dirompente.
La rifunzionalizzazione ancor pi che la riqualificazione trasforma il luogo pubblico (quartieri dormitorio, infrastrutture
di servizio come i piloni dellautostrada, edifici abbandonati e fatiscenti) in luoghi di socialit, veicoli di cultura e sensibilit
artistica, restituendoli alla collettivit. Questa la filosofia ispiratrice della rassegna, una filosofia che nel nostro territorio,
piegato dal terremoto e a cinque anni ormai dallevento, disgregato nella sua composizione sociale e territoriale,
disorientato nel tentativo di ricostruirsi unidentit, acquista un valore particolarmente significativo.
Il nome RE_ACTO viene un po anche da qui, distorsione street di REAGIRE questa rassegna vuole, ambiziosamente,
essere un modo per sommergere LAquila di creativit, ripensare il luogo pubblico rimettere al centro dellelaborazione
post sisma la socialit e la possibilit di espressione. La rassegna proporr inoltre eventi collaterali quali conferenze a
tema, una mostra collettiva, eventi di live-painting aperti alla comunit, dj-sets ed una selezione di musica live con i
migliori rappresentanti della scena indipendente italiana.
