School Board Initiatives

School Board Members and District office leadership: Review the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology, Texas Campus STaR Chart Summary for the district. Gather feedback from district Instructional
Technologist (IT), to create technology budget, and present plan to the district. Form a technology planning committee consisting of the IT, A school board member, Superintendant, and three
administrators.

Technology Planning Committee

Members: Assess the hardware/software needs of each campus in the district and submit recommendations to the school board. Develop specific curriculum for professional development (PD) of faculty
concerning technology integration.

Instructional Technology Specialist

Instructional Technologist: Work directly with school board and district leadership and be responsible for implementing technology action plan guidelines.

Elementary and Secondary Instructional Technology Specialist

Secondary IT (SIT): Under guidance from the IT, the Secondary IT would work closely with curriculum coordinators to incorporate technology into the curriculum. They would also be responsible for
directing PD at the campus level concerning technology assimilation.

Campus Based Technology Instructor (CBTI): Held accountable to the IT and

Professional Development Outline


Each year, teachers are required to attend one professional development activity in at least four of the five categories.
Development activities will last approximately 2 hours each, so each teacher will receive a minimum of eight technology
professional development hours each year. They will be offered after school, during summer break, and on district PD
days. They may be taken individually or all together as a group in one eight- hour PD day.
