INITIAL STATUS
-

Oil production is running and operating conditions of all equipment are within the
limit

All chemical injection is running at optimum rate

PRELIMINARIES

< > Ensure all personnel have H2S detectors & Escape masks.
< > Ensure that all F&G systems are in automatic.
< > Inform Dor-2 and Dor-1 about the operation
< > Ensure that radio communication is working between CCR & out side operator/
Dor-1 and Dor-2
< > Ensure that all F&G or process Inhibitions has been entered into the RED
BOOK
< > Ensure Trolley Breathing apparatus is available at cluster side

SHUT DOWN OF OIL PRODUCTION WELL

Oil production wells will trip automatically in case of the causes mentioned
below:

ESD-1 by manual push buttons, F&G system or fusible loop which closes:
SCSSVs + ESD-2 + ESD-3 of all wells on the cluster

ESD-2 by PSHH test header or PSHH production header (2 o o 3)

ESD-3 by flowline PSHH, PSLL or push buttons from each well head control
panel: Only individual well shut down (close SSV)

Apart from the above reasons if shutdown is required for maintenance,

manifold and or flowline will have to depressurize to Dorood-3 HP flare to
minimum possible & then residual pressure to cluster Catchments pit.
The procedure for well closing and depressurization is described below.

3.1

Shut Down preparation

Check CCR / cluster radio communication is working

In case also depressurization will be performed:

Check that proper portable manifolds are available for Cluster depressurization

Ensure Trolley BA sets are ready for using

Ensure N2 cylinders are available

Ensure the burner is ready at catchments pit & LPG gas is available

Ensure proper tools & gaskets are available

3.2

Stopping of the Well

Closing of wells

Note the choke opening size and flow rate in FIR

Gradually reduce oil flow from the wells by closing the choke

Close well head manual wing valve

[]

Close the SSV from the well head control panel

[]

Close the SCSSVs according to the nature of the shut down
