My Vampire Dark Ages Fiction, deciphered Andr M. Pietroschek
Written IC, from the perspectie of chosen !P" character
Dear Magus Leigh,
wandering the dark halls of our spiritual high-fortress has become a
dangerous ordeal to me. guess all those whispers and rumors about
some ongoing secret diabolism, and the members of our !ouse who commit
it, ma" ha#e begun to spook me a bit.
M" breath is hea#", and am sweating each time more, when attempt,
to make it to our now-nightl" meetings. do not blame "ou, as "our
higher rank includes so much more dut". $et sometimes wished, we
could e%change our letters in da"light, like we did the last decade.
&he new arrangement bears its benefits too. 'ne night reall" belie#ed
that saw (trius himself walking around with his staff of ad)utants and
secretaries. t was most inspiring to be reminded of how much higher in
rank most of us ma" still rise. 'h, if would )ust be better-#ersed with
creo fatum, rego *atum and +erdo *ortuna...
1
I write this in Pietroschek Prose, not US-English, nor British English. Pietroschek Prose is something like unintentional,
imbecilic-moronic violation of the two English versions to which it is often accidentally comared to. !-"
,ight and -ilence, -hadows. *riends. / decade before established m"
hea#il" critici0ed progress on bloodmagic had ranked on the path of
eternal night or -hadows, as the simpletons put it in their impatience. t
did help, as on successful in#ocation the darkness guided me more than it
blinded me. Creo ater, rego ater 1 perdo ater, in m" lacking Latin.
-adl" though, it becomes more and more clear to me that the -hadows
themsel#es whisper warnings, or threats, to me. ,ightl" +redators
lurking2 Could it reall" be that a fierce, stealth" killer managed to get
access to Ceoris wonder2
/n"wa", m" weakened stamina worries me and will force me, to in#est
much more energ" and time back into recuperation and healing. e#en
remembered the good old /lchem" and !ousewife herbal remedies... $et
no longer want to keep "ou waiting for "our recent ke"-topic.
$our obser#ations and conclusions ha#e 3uite impressed me. was
surprised b" the astonishment of the disco#er". $ou seem to see a uni3ue
approach to bloodmagic which actuall" ha#e ne#er disco#ered m"self.
fear though that is the toll which age and sickness ha#e on m"
competence. $our approach seems to be more modern than an" theor" of
-orcer" which e#er read or inscribed m"self.
am faithful to our arrangement though and will put emphasis on the
topics of bloodmagic for longe#it" -orcer" as soon, as can focus on
practical sorcer" instead of theor" and research about it. M" access to
certain tomes is limited in usage-time and others am forbidden to read
at all. *urther am the mbecile. M" sad lack of skill for linguistics,
the limits of m" education, take their pro#erbial toll.
M" onl" meditation about the suggestion which "ou made, and e%pect
"ou ha#e made it for a practical reason, ga#e me a #ague intuiti#e
feeling about the need to e%periment with a cross-combination of
bloodmagic with healing and transformation.
-tupid as m" 1
st
mistake, foolishl" thought, )ust for one instance, that
"ou meant that there e%ists a certain bloodmagic-alchem" drink, which
would actuall" in#oke such a transformation in at ma%imum three
nights. 'h such is m" foll". 'f course "ou, as a ranking member of
impressi#e accomplishments, know well,
4
that -orcer" takes time. (speciall" so when used to produce lasting
effects. $et ha#e the feeling that can soon )oin "ou up on "our
theor" and that we ma" actuall" disco#er some spectacular results. /ll
that schedule puts between m" practical support and our first anal"sis is
one appointment with another member from the concla#e of darkness.
Much like "ou, the" came up with an offer of alchemical sorts. &he"
foretold #aguel" about a ritual and potion, which could stabili0e m"
health and again m" .in )ust three nights. misconception. ,octurnal
Coincidences like that seem to be the bliss of the moment.
/s this letter ends, am focused on -hadow -orcer" and eager, to pass
the test which allows me to meet this new ac3uaintance. -ome whisper,
he is a famous guest who has #isited Ceoris for man" "ears alread".

/dd-'n 4 7 Letter to an appreciated old /c3uaintance
Most respected &haumaturge Leigh,
with this letter wanted to thank "ou for efforts, which back in the
past, could not appreciate for lack of both, knowledge and initiation.
$ou knew me as 8artholomew #an 9e"den, a minor adept of a sub-house
to the old !ouses oh so !ermetic before :ebirth in 8lood was known.
8" now understand well that "our (mbrace into !ouse &remere and
m" (mbrace into the Clan of -hadow spoiled some of "our original plans.
apologi0e for ha#ing failed to support "ou b" m" selfish 3uest for
sur#i#al. guess "ou know that m" -ire would ha#e not left me that
option though an"wa".
/s more than a Decade did pass and politics ha#e become a problem ha#e
to watch out for, please know this. !"potheticall" would be willing
to reestablish the old occult research as we did it as mortals. 'nce
more, how foolish babbled about "ou in m" ignorance, please lets laugh
about it with no pro#erbial bad blood left between us2
;
would understand, if "our Clans reign puts "ou in a predicament of
sorts, "et if "ou still follow some of "our old roads to disco#er", we
ma", to a degree limited b" our duties and allegiances, return to the
)o"ful stud" of 8loodmagic and -hadow-+owers finall". lea#e the
choice to "ou, as trul", m" duties forced me into a new role which the
mortal -orcerer once was could ha#e ne#er imagined.
once saw a <ester mocking the topic. -adl" he was an impertinent ghoul
going to far with it and was torn to shreds in the combat-*ocused creo
ater and rego ater which our hardliners are so notorious for. became a
kind of +rodig". /fter horrible failures and hardl" sur#i#ed punishments
am now finall" a self-sufficient and nearl" independent adult once
more= /s far, as one of our blood ma" be so.
8asicall", to remain modest and focused, the 8loodmagic handled as a
mortal resulted in an une%pected /nomal" when became a ghoul and
once more when was (mbraced. ,othing spectacular, )ust that
3uickl" de#eloped back in -hadow--orcer" and that was reborn with a
gift which is harshl" e#er coming that earl" to those of our blood.
heard "our scholars summari0e it as the Discipline called /uspe%.
am willing to discuss m" wa" through the last "ears, "et, of course
and in mutual consideration, e%pect it wise for both of us, not to
share an" information about our creators or our bloodlines at all.
had been trained and send to assassinate traitors as part of m"
education and stud" and it was ne#er as pleasant as in bardic tales.
Dut" alwa"s comes first now, otherwise ha#e regained m" open-minded
personalit" in memor" of the good old times.
am a notch more culti#ated in practice now, too. ,ot good enough
for the highborn, "et can handle m"self among artisans and merchants
or simple courtiers. &hat includes keeping their daggers out of m" back
for now.
5
am uncertain about the credibilit" of rumors. &hough hope that "our
own progress has satisfied "ou. was rebuked 3uite harshl" b" some of
the &remere inter#iewed to find "ou after such a long time. n truth,
barel" escaped *inal Death due one of "our most intolerant hardliners
in +rague and once more similar in >ienna.

9ell, it ga#e me reasons to become tougher and faster. sn.t it
despicable how the non-spirituals compensate their deficiencies b"
constant #iolence2 still get angr" when ha#e to draw a blade.
/s far as can suggest topics which we ma" use to re#i#e our old
ac3uaintance, consider the 5se of Mental Domination, &he blood-
powers of perception and the old approaches we alread" did as mortals to
be a decent and modest, neutral and uncompromising start2 would lo#e
to read "our e#aluation.
+olitics and *ormalities ma" cost us some time, "et it should be possible
to once more reach a state of mutual benefit. would understand
though, when "ou want to lea#e all "our mortal ties behind "ou.
ne#er did embrace an"bod" "et, still know from obser#ation and
handling m" own retainers that there are good reasons for such as well.
know that "ou cannot belie#e me, "et promise, did not share an" of
m" in3uiries about "ou with m" -ire or an" other member of m"
bloodline. t is m" right to attempt this though, as back in Ceoris we had
legitimi0ation to )oin "our !ouse as free and welcome guests.
/s far as know, did not #iolate an" of "our wards. t will be
seriousl" helpful to "ou an"wa", to remember focus on perdo ater as
once called it. Detecting of our traditional wa" of -hadow--orcer"
ma" be a notch more difficult. 9hile am inferior skilled with /uspe%,
would remind "ou to use that gift of the blood in addition to "our
-uccessor to -orcer" which know now as thaumaturg".
?
'ne last rhetorical 3uestion@ /fter the (mbrace, did "ou face certain
strenuous failures, when energi0ing b" blood instead of will, too2
know that it can be easil" dismissed as thinking too mortal. -till
found that precisel" that allows uni3ue applications which are not
known to reactionar" or lethargic members of our Concla#e of -hadows
at all.
ha#e not been banned from Ceoris "et or such, it is )ust, that feel
wrong in )ust returning there. plan to regain a new official in#itation
as am no longer a Mortal -orcerer and would be displeased, if one
would accuse me of such a blatant and crude attempt of infiltration or
opportunism.
$ou ha#e m" best wishes and hope that no change we had to get
through would force us, to face each other as enemies. Ma" that night
ne#er come. *arewell=

am relie#ed much, now that ha#e brought the secret meeting

wanted all m" works from m" "ears as a mortal -orcerer archi#ed for

-orcer" or similar after becoming a ghoul. ha#e added certain notes
from the later "ears and m" suspicions about the &ransformation which
we call (mbrace and how it has to be handled to keep a connection to
formerl" learned basics. (mbrace, for it makes me one of m" brothers
keepers... a weird statement of camaraderie and responsibilit", wouldn.t
"ou think2
f sur#i#e the tra#els, fear that a centur" of political dut" awaits
me. -ometimes it is a burden or toll find unsuitable. $et until now
onl" know of one m"stic from m" own bloodline who has an" interest in
furthering the understanding of our blood-powered -hadow--orcer".
'pportunit" in crisis. 'riginall" considered the last principle "ou
wrote me about a failure on m" part. Later, had to correct that. ,o,
cannot shoot bolts of darkness at enemies. am not aware, if that is
because of m" own limited skill, or because of ph"sical limitations. 8olts
fired lose substance rapidl", as energ"-loss destabili0es their matter and
m" control of the energ". did impro#ise a solution though. Minor
+rogress, can temporaril" solidif" the spearheads of m" tentacles to
become dagger-like.
&o me personall" it is ener#ating, as ha#e to in#est e%tra effort and
concentration. $et felled four so called witch-hunters with it where
earl" would ha#e )ust managed to wrestle them and flee. *oolishl", as
the concept of strangulation is well known to me. -till am not "et
reall" skilled in such and m" temper took toll.
-adl" this means one more temporal dead-end to our combined research
and contemplation. *or now. ha#e to tell "ou about m" suspicion
about that topic. t seems "our blood-power is more #ersatile in certain
approaches. 'r am far deficient in Dnowledge2 n theor" the principles
work out well, "et in practice less than half of them seem practicable at
all.
10
&o a degree this must be due lack of e%perience, ma"be for both of us.
'h and did as "ou asked on the mundane definition. &he term <ihad, as
far as know, is unknown as such among the reborn in blood. &he term
stems from /rabia and the Muslim religion known as slam2 slam means
total submission to god in some translations and <ihad or D)"had seems
to mean@ 9ork for god when in peacetime and hol" war otherwise2
-ome could call me a heretic to the catholic faith. am not sure, "et
remember our priests preaching against bearded de#ils from the desert and
their mortal pawns. was not surprised that the" crusaded in attempts
to free the !ol" Land from them and would not be surprised, when
those bearded de#ils would soon roast on p"res either. Ma"be
retrospecti#e that /tmosphere of 5ncertaint" is the aftermath of the 1
st
Crusade gone awr". don.t know, if the" are friend, food or foe...
9hile ne#er #isited /rabia or (g"pt, know warnings about the
latter. 8oth spawn forth dedicated scholars and m"stics, "et m" -ire
warned me about #enturing south too much. guess he was holding back
the real important lore as usual, "et our bloodline does not warn if
there is no real threat obscured and lurking. *are &hee well and e%pect
words to the sland Lion, if sur#i#e the ordeal put before me.
-hades of -hadow" -ermon
'The eldritch excerpt from Bartholomew van Weyden was seemingly
continued by a certain Andiamo Guicciardini some decades after the
original heretic had withered away. The name is clearly artificial and
the writing, it seems to stem from somebody with very limited sill and
education once again. !t is clear though that the writing suggests that
a cult of nocturnal heretics worshi ps the 'angelis ater' or angel of
darness. This dar angel then, obvious to all theologists another
fallen angel" one more disguise of the #evil itself$ %ucily though, it
seems to be a local heresy in &outhern 'ngland. While the author
wastes no words about his person or reliable sources, there are several
passages, which tell(tale against the typical pagan witchcraft
conspiracy. The author considers them archaic and atavistic, prone to
self(destruction by provoing the holy !n)uisition. We consider A.G. To
be a fallen mon or halfwit noble child, who, tormented by *ell and
the shoc of having sexual intercourse with the #evil, felt forced, to
unleash such unholy sermon about darness being a sentient and
sapient entity to those with certain talents. !t is wise, not to let such
writings be read by the ,nprepared, as their innocent souls may really
be tainted by beholding the ,nholy.'

Added Excerpt: Crept out of the Phantasm-Well
Dreams are my reality... Vanessa silently cursed her immature naivety. That French Film with
Sophie Marceau had brainwashed entire generations into expecting omance! where in truth a
merciless Dictator named Testosterone reigned sel"ishly. #nd it lur$ed "or all o" them.
%et! "or now! she had more urgent problems to handle. &y her own decision she had eagerly
'oined the secret society to which her parents had pledged allegiance. She still paid the price "or
that decision as she ran onwards.
Dreamers o" the Silver (ortal. #ctually a very modern and 'oy"ul group. Those o" extraordinaire
mind "ound training! advise and li$e)minded "ellows there. *t started with some yoga! meditation
and lucid dreaming discussions. Much "un! great com"ort and even modern style whenever she
was there. %et in reality nothing is "lawless and the dar$ side o" the psychic "oundation had
shown itsel" soon enough.
Vanessa became an early victim in a power)struggle o" the veteran psychics battling "or
leadership and the privileges it brought along. +er body comatose due a psychic poison! she
"ought a desperate "ight to wa$e up. +er only alternate was wal$ing a dreamworld which would
die when the li"e)support "or her body would be turned o"".
#nd neither her parents nor be"riended psychics could be contacted! no matter how hard she
tried. #"ter a while she had learned all that "rom observation and conclusion about her physical
body aging as other subtle signs which brought tears to her dream)eyes. #nd she had gained
her "irst triumph.
Somewhere out there in the real world was one desperate "ool whom could sense her. Sadly
though he was very "ar "rom being Vanessa,s -night in Shining #rmor. +e was 'ust some $ind o"
"rea$! old and useless to society. That though made him waste much time be"ore computers and
precisely that made his mind dri"t into the trance state due which she could hold contact with
the intuitive "ool he was.
*t had its drawbac$s though. *n her dream)prison laws were di""erent and each time the imbecile
indulged a porn or went playing Dungeons . Dragons it was Vanessa who "ound hersel"
surrounded by /phemera which became real enough to threaten her li"e. 0r her sel")respect
when he watched cheap so"t)porn.
The drawbac$s were "or both o" them as she had learned. +er presence and attaching to his
personality had begun to in"luence him as well. +e considered Vanessa the 1host o" his
daughter haunting him2 #"ter a while guilt and sorrow had stopped crashing li$e waves upon
both o" them and he had started to become wary o" the evil ephemera driving him nuts.
44
+e suspected one o" his chat)room contacts to be the culprit. (urposely driving him insane! li$e
some $ind o" craven villain2 Stu"" li$e that.
Vanessa thereby lost time. (recious time. #s long as the "ool was distracted! she could learn what
his mind read "rom the screen. Sometimes even news and dates to give her some orientation.
3n"ortunately he had begun research o" dreaming as part o" his ghost hunting and exorcism

#nd then came the moment in which he had hit her2 She was dream)wal$ing on her own! as i"
she had a choice! when her world shoo$ and she "elt pain "or the "irst time in years. 4hen she
opened her eyes and stood up again! she "aced the old man glaring at her with eyes "ull o"
hostility. &ut time wor$ed its own spell and his dream)body lost energy! dissolved li$e a
banished ghost. &ut she had clearly seen! that he hadn,t even waxed his "acial hair2 /vil old
wretch.
Three months passed. Feverish e""orts o" learning "or the young girl and the old man. The
Stalemate bro$e! when Vanessa detected him in trance once more. She calmed hersel" and
ventured care"ully! "or the "irst time not simply rushing into his personality. /xpecting the
*nternet or his home (5 once more! the "irst surprise was that he stared upon a Tablet (5! a hand)

The 6
nd
surprise dar$ened her world! as he obviously invested e""orts to ma$e her see his index

surprise made him

not move the body.
Vanessa "elt a wave o" e8uilibrium. # weird though clearly psychic power activated by the angry
old man. Then he moved and she lost "ocus as his trance was no longer deep enough "or her
mind to reach it. #nother eternity began to pass by. 9ext she was drawn into a trance against
her own decision. ebecca: She loo$ed so old2 ebecca tal$ed! yet Vanessa couldn,t her a word.
The moment "aded. ebecca was one o" her "riends! one o" the "ew who remained "riends a"ter
high)school.
Timeless her dream)world went on. 3ntil another occurrence. She was visited again. The old man
and ebecca this time. Vanessa saw the old man directed towards ebecca! while her "riend once
more seemed to call "or her yet remained voiceless. She could read the worried "acial expression
o" ebecca, and witnessed her tal$ing with the old man. She "elt the result! he grew "rustrated.
+is device appeared in his hand again. +e started typing a moment and stared on it li$e a priest
stares at holy scripture. # moment later Vanessa could share his sight once more; 5onnect your
mind to your bodies 5entral 9ervous System emphatically. 0ur e""orts will alert those who "lat)

46
Vanessa was overwhelmed. Trapped between shoc$ and con"usion. 4hen she concentrated
again on her surroundings she "elt the trance state rein"orcing once more and this time she saw
that ebecca was typing on the mini (5 o" the old man.
</mpty Screen= then the old man "ocused once again. ebecca is worried about your
predicament and promised to help. She is not li$e you though! * sense no talent in her.
Vanessa raged de"ensively. ebecca is very talented! she dances delicately and she graduated
much better than you old wretch could ever dream to do2 The "utility o" her response soon
became clear. ebecca was not a (sychic at all that remained true.
They both began to "ade. Vanessa was away "rom reality "or too long! to remember the immense
strain which extended psychic activity meant "or humans. +er dreams simply became blea$ and
empty when she had overdone it with her abilities. %et now she had a goal. # clear goal! much
better than mere hope. The old man had hit her with his mind and hence"orth he may be true
with the need o" her own mind controlling her body again. &ut he should really see a beauty
saloon! even he would not need to be that ugly and un$empt.
&lac$! oily water reached up to Vanessa>s hip. ?uc$ily she had not to smell it as well. The dream
had a gravity drawing her "orwards. #n ancient stone well on a small island in that rotten waters.
3p "rom above there shone a golden light down upon the well. For a moment her minds eye
suggested a surreal $ind o" seance being held by ebecca! the old and now bald man and some
others. &ut a hurting and merciless "orce propelled her closer to the well. Force"ully pushing her
onwards! until she was pushed into the depth2
5orpses everywhere Vanessa struggled to orient hersel" to her surroundings. &ut her limbs did
not move her anymore. This was the borderline which was no longer 'ust the dream made up by
her own mind and here the rules o" reality were un$nown to her.
0nwards "or your li"e2
The picture had not "ully "ormed in her mind! when it was already "ading again. Vanessa "elt
urgency in the message and attempted to comply. 0nly her will was le"t to attempt the
empathic override o" her surroundings and it was gruesomely short! that precious moment o"
"eeling her glide "orwards towards @ towards what:
/ternal dar$ness! underwater in a thunderstorm. Vanessa realiAed that it needed a miracle to
bring her bac$ to li"e. #nd she $new that only one thing ever ma$es 1od grant such miracles. *t is
