CSR Drinking Water Supply Projects

I wish to introduce my company Deltapure Technologies, as a manufacturer of water purification plants.

We have over 15 years experience in this industry, and are privileged to have among our clients leading
corporate and well as government organizations. Such as L&T, Mc Donalds, DLF, Bechtel, Hamdard,
HDFC Bank, Indian Army, CRPF, Indian Oil to name a few.

As we maintain various types of R O plants and other water purification equipment for our clients, all
over north India. We have a reliable service team covering most northern states.

As we all know that most common dieses are caused by impurities in water. As the pollution levels rise
the water sources are getting more and more polluted, also as the water table drops the, the pollution
level of the ground water rises, due to accumulated pesticides, heavy metals, arsenic and other
contaminants, leading to serious health problems.

All the above types of water can be made safe for drinking by RO purification.
Costs of RO purification
Industrial R O plants start from capacity of 150 to 10,000 LPH and above.

The average person needs about 3/5 liters of drinking water per day. Therefore an R O plant of 1000 LPH
would be able to purify 8/10,000 liters per day, enough for about 1000/1500 persons.

Capital Costs
Cost Of RO 1000 LPH Rs 275.000/-

Cost of Infra (shed water storage tanks and taps etc) Rs 150,000/-

Therefore for a capital investment of about Rs400, 000 a 1000 LPH RO can be set up, if infrastructure like
shed or room and water/ electricity connection is available then the costs will be lower.
Maintenance and operating expenses
a. Manpower.Rs 10,000 PM
b. Electricity...Rs 7,000 PM ( subject to 8 hour use per day)
c. Spares and repairsRs 10,000 PM
d. Micl.Rs 3,000 PM

The above are rough estimates but lets say the maintenance and operating costs per 1500 persons
would be Rs30, 000 or Rs20 per person per month.
Setting Up a Drinking Water CSR project
Many urban and rural areas have very bad water conditions. Therefore a detailed survey is essential of
the area that is selected.

To reduce the costs of infrastructure, projects can be tied up with schools, hospitals or other available
buildings where water, electricity and security is available.

Other considerations for selecting sites can be proximity to your office, factories or markets, as the good
will generated by providing pure drinking water will be immense.

As each location will be different and costs will vary depending on the amount of infra available, we will
assist you in drawing plans to set up, with advice on the type of water purification required, at that
location, and give cost estimates and setting up schedule.
Other Water Purification Technologies
Apart from R O plants there are other purification technologies available, depending on the water
quality. As per WHO standards TDS (total dissolved solids) of upto 500 PPM is considered ok for human
consumption provided there is no other major contaminant in the water. Simple filtration, UV or
chlorine dosing to kill of bacteria and remove turbidity, is a solution that can be offered in rural areas
and for villages etc at a very cost effective expense.
