Alteration
The system requirements for running Allplan 2011 IBD Building
Alteration are the same as those for Allplan.

You require Allplan 2011 for running Allplan 2011 IBD CAD Data
for Building Alteration.
Allplan service release
We strongly recommend keeping Allplan up to date. You can
download service releases from Nemetschek's homepage
www.nemetschek.de. Navigate to the Service section and select
Downloads.
Backing up data prior to installation
Don't forget to back up your data before you install Allplan 2011
IBD CAD Data for Building Alteration.

2011 IBD Building Alteration package
To install data and content of the Allplan 2011 IBD
Building Alteration package
Allplan 2011 must be installed and running. After having
installed Allplan, you need to start it at least once and check
whether it works properly.
1 Close any applications that are running.
Note: When you are working in a network environment, check
that Allplan is currently not running on any workstation.
2 Log on as the system administrator.
3 Insert the medium with the data in the appropriate drive.
The menu starts automatically.
4 On the menu click Allplan programs - Allplan 2011 IBD -
Allplan IBD CAD Planning Data for Building Alteration.

5 Follow the installation dialog.
When installation is complete, click Finish.



Configuring
Before you work with the contents of the IBD 2009 Building
Alteration package you need to configure several settings of Allplan.

1 On the Format menu, click Select, Set Layers.
2 Select the Select Layer/Visibility tab.
3 In the Layer's format properties area, choose the From layer,
line type option for Pen, Line and Color.

1 On the Tools menu, click Options....
2 Click the Architecture module.
3 Select the Display tab.
4 In the Defaults for specific component properties area, set the
options according to the following illustration:

1 On the Tools menu, click Options....
2 Click Global options.
3 Select the View tab, and click Hidden.
The Settings for hidden line images dialog box opens.
4 In the Result area, activate the Display edges uniformly option,
and choose Pen 1.

5 In the Special settings area, click Arch....
The Architectural Hidden Line Image dialog box opens.
6 In the Show in Sections area, deactivate the Apply thick line
around intersected elements option.

7 Click OK to confirm the dialog boxes.

Note: If you want to run Allplan 2011 IBD CAD Planning Data for
Building Alteration in a network environment managed by network
manager, you should install this package on each workstation to
ensure that the IBD data, which is managed in a user-specific
manner by Allplan, is available on all computers.

Activating the Allplan 2011 IBD template project for users
You can only see the IBD template project when you have logged on
as the Allplan system administrator (sysadm). This project is not
visible for normal users.
To ensure that normal users can also access this project, you can
give them specific access rights for projects.

To define user rights for projects
1 Start Allplan and log on as the system administrator. Assign
access rights for the existing projects to the individual users.
2 On the File menu, click Open Project, select the IBD
template project, click Settings... and then Owner
or
On the File menu, click ProjectPilot - Admin, click the IBD
template project with the right mouse button, choose Properties
on the shortcut menu and select the Security tab.
3 Specify the owners and authorized users of the project.
Now the template project is also available to normal users.

Assigning the ALLPLAN privilege set and the plot set for
the IBD template project to all users
In a workgroup environment, normal users cannot use the plot set in
the layer settings of the Allplan IBD template project (the plot set is
grayed out). You need to assign access rights for this plot set to the
individual users.
To ensure that the layers can be accessed by all the users, they
require the ALLPLAN privilege set.


To define user rights for the plot set and assign the
ALLPLAN privilege set to users
1 Start Allplan and log on as the Allplan system administrator.
Tip: If a user had opened the
template project when you
activated it, the assignments
you made are not updated
until the user switches
projects.

2 On the View menu, click Select, Set Layers.
3 Select the Plot Set tab and click Define, modify plot set.
4 Select the Assign plot set tab in the Plot Set Manager dialog
box.
5 Start by selecting a user. Then select all the plot sets you want to
assign to this user and click the arrow pointing to the right to
actually assign the plot set(s) selected.

6 Click OK to confirm.
7 Select the Privilege Set tab and click Define, modify privilege
set.
8 Select the Assign privilege set tab in the Privilege Set Manager
dialog box.
9 Select one or more users and drag the users to the ALLPLAN
privilege set
or
Select the ALLPLAN privilege set and click the arrow pointing to
the right.

Alternative: making plot sets and privilege sets visible to
all users
In a workgroup environment without explicit user rights (i.e. all
users have the same rights), it is usually enough if all the users can
see all the plot sets and privilege sets.
To make plot sets and privilege sets visible to all users
1 Start Allplan and log on as the Allplan system administrator.
2 On the View menu, click Select, Set Layers.
3 Click the Privilege Set tab.
4 Activate the Show all users all plot sets and privilege sets
option.

Updating and upgrading
Important: Never save your own data in Allplan IBD-specific
folders as the contents of these folders are overwritten when you
install updates.
ATTENTION!
Always back up all the data of your IBD projects before you install
updates or upgrades.

Updating CAD data
Updating Allplan 2011 IBD
Please note:
Template projects from earlier versions are retained.
You need to rename the existing template project 2011 before
you update.
New and revised Allplan 2011 IBD wizards are written to the
Etc\Assistent\IBD-Assistenten-2011 folder. Existing
wizards are replaced.
Fixing IBD CAD data by updating
To restore the defaults of Allplan 2011 IBD CAD Data for Building
Alteration, you can simply update the program.
Note: Existing IBD template projects of the current version (with
their original names) are not overwritten!
