Description
Si kaf l oor

-161 is a low viscosity, solvent free, 2-component epoxy primer, for

use on absorbent substrates.
Si kaf l oor

-263 SL is a 2-component, economic, multi-purpose, epoxy resin

based binder.
Si kadur

-504 is a selected quartz sand of special gradings used as component

C (filler) for Si kaf l oor

self-levelling systems (0.080.2mm).

Surface Preparation
Substrate should be sound, clean, dry, fine gripping, free from dust, loose
particles, cement laitance, oil, grease or any other contamination.
This can be mechanically achieved by e.g. captive shotblasting, sandblasting or
equivalent methods.
Note: Surface contamination can be removed by high pressure water jetting
(Min. 150 bar) with the addition of suitable detergents. Concrete parts where oil
has penetrated into the concrete must be removed mechanically. Oil
contamination can be checked by dropping water onto the surface. If a
hydrophobic effect is visible, the surface is contaminated.
Repair minor damages, honeycombing or defects in the concrete surface with
Sikagard

-720 EpoCem

or Sikafloor

-161 Mortar. Larger breakouts can be

repaired with Sikadur

-31/41.
The substrate must have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm
2
and
minimum surface tensile (pull-off) strength of 1.5 N/mm
2
.
The moisture content of the substrate must be below 4%; other wise, a
temporary moisture barrier with 2mm minimum thickness of Sikafloor

-81
EpoCem

must be used.
Thorough vacuuming before priming is absolutely necessary.

Mixing
Sikafloor

-161
Stir separately components A and B of Sikafloor

-161 well with an electric

mixer, then add the full kit of component B into component A and mix with a slow
speed mixer (300 - 400 rpm) for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture
is achieved, taken care to as little air as possible. Place mixed material into a
clean container and mix again shortly.

Stir separately components A and B of Sikafloor

-263 SL well with an electric

mixer, then add the full kit of component B into component A and mix with a slow
speed mixer (300 - 400 rpm) for at least 3 minutes, then add 1 part by weight of
component C Sikadur

-504 and mix for a further 3 minutes with the slow speed
mixer until a homogeneous mixture is achieved, taking care to entrap as little air
as possible. Place mixed material into a clean container and mix again shortly.

Application
Primer:
Apply the primer coat of Sikafloor

-161 by roller using a consumption of 0.15 -

0.5 kg/m depending on absorbency and roughness of the substrate. Ensure
complete wetting out of the surface. Wait until tack free before applying following
coats (min. 8 hours, max. 24 hours @ 30C.
Important: The concrete must be completely sealed, and shall not have any
absorbency prior to the application of the broadcast.

Self-levelling Mortar
Pour the Sikafloor

-263 SL mortar and spread it equally over the area by

means of a notched trowel according to the required thickness (4x4 mm notches
will give 2mm thickness).
Immediately use a spiked roller to remove any entrapped air.
Use a consumption of approximately 1.9 kg/m
2
of mixture per thickness of 1 mm.
Leave the Sikafloor

-263 SL mortar to cure for at least 5 days (at 30C) before

full exposure.
