Among the several saints who descended in

Bengal in the 20th century Sri Sri Ram Thakur

was one with great distinction. To save and
salvage human beings from the unending and
unbearable pains and misery Sri Sri Thakur came
to this world to show the right path and to set
them free from their predicament. !ere we
record some of Thakur"s strange prophecies # !is
supernatural sense of premonition at important
historical $unctures.
After %nding a suitable plot of land in hilly
&hittagong many of !is disciples had the desire
to inaugurate Sri Sri 'aibalyadham on the
auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya in the Bengali
month of Baishakh. But Sri Sri Thakur declared
that the Ashram would be inaugurated on
Saturday (uly 2) *+,0 -Shraban *0 *,,. B.S./.
0hy1 Some of the disciples of Sri Sri Thakur
assumed that Sri Sri Thakur through !is spiritual
insight could foresee that the &hittagong
Rebellion would take place on April *2 *+,0 and
tremendous torture by the then British
government would follow as its backlash. And as
such !e deferred the date so that !is disciples
could avert any untoward situation.
According to Sri 3pendranath Bandyopadhyay a
few days after the &hittagong Rebellion he went
to meet Sri Sri Ramthakur at &handpur
Bangladesh one day early in the morning and as
soon as he o4ered pronam Sri Sri Thakur told
him 5 67et us go to &alcutta tonight itself.6
3penbabu agreed but could not comprehend
the signi%cance of Sri Sri Thakur"s proposal. 8n
the other hand the situation at the town was
very tense since a police inspector was shot dead
the night before. The ne9t night Thakur along
with 3penbabu reached :r. ;aren Brahmachari"s
residence at <ntally in 'olkata. =n the wee hours
the police raided ;arenbabu"s house and started
to interrogate each and everyone. Sri Sri Thakur
too was not spared. Before the police o>cers
took 3penbabu to the notorious &.=.:.
head?uarters on 7ord Sinha Road he went
upstairs to meet Thakur. Thakur told him 5 6@ou
have committed no wrong. So don"t worry. @ou
will be back unharmed.6 :r. ;aren Brahmachari
accompanied him. After a days" harassment
when he was presented before a deputy
commissioner 3penbabu was asked 2#,
?uestions. Satis%ed with the answers the deputy
commissioner scolded the police o>cer for
causing unnecessary inconvenience to 3penbabu
and he was back to ;arenbabu"s <ntally

8n a winter evening of *+,2 Sri Sri Thakur was
strolling on the roof of Sri !arendra 'umar Saha"s
(adunath Ballik 7ane home along with Sri Tulsidas
Cangopadhyay !arenbabu and some others with
!is eyes %9ed on the stars in the sky. Suddenly
!e said 5 6The stars that rose during the
'urukshetra 0ar are rising again. Billions of
people would lose their lives.6 !is prediction was
vindicated as in *+,+ started the 0orld 0ar ==
that witnessed an unprecedented massacre an
unforeseen and unimaginable destruction.
Against such a backdrop in the morning of
August ) *+DA as !e was staying in a house in
the town of Eeni Sri Sri Thakur all of a sudden
lamented 6AlasF AlasF 0hat a destructionF6
Actually on that very fatal day the atom bomb
was dropped on !iroshima and Sri Sri Thakur
visualiGed it through !is spiritual insight. ;othing
on this planet could go unnoticed by Sri Sri
Thakur"s spiritual consciousness or insight.

take rest for some time in one particular place so
