Primary Information

I. INTRODUCTION:
Voltamp Transformers Ltd. was initially incorporated as Private Limited
Company and established in year 1967 in Vadodara. Further, by a
special resolution passed by the shareholders under section 31 and 44 of
the Companies Act, 1956, the Company has been converted from Private
Limited to Public Limited Company on 22.02.2006.
The Company has installed facility to manufacture Oil filled Power and
Distribution Transformers up to 160MVA, 220kV Class, Resin
Impregnated Dry type Transformers up to 5 MVA, 11KV Class (In
Technical collaboration with MORA, GERMANY) and Cast Resin Dry type
Transformers up to 12.5 MVA, 33 KV Class (In Technical collaboration
with HTT, GERMANY). There are total four Sheds one each for Oil filled
Power Transformers, Oil filled Distribution Transformers, Resin
Impregnated Dry type Transformers and Cast Resin Dry type
Transformers . The factory is spread over 6 acres of land and has a built
up area of 11,800 sq. mtr. The total installed capacity is around 11000
MVA per annum.





Over the years of sincere service and dedication to its customers has
earned the company, distinguished customers which includes leaders in
Government and Semi-Government projects, Refineries, Fertilizer Plants,
Power sector, Pharma, Paper, Steel, Cement sectors etc and various other
Industries and State Electricity Boards.
The turnover of the COMPANY for the year ended 31.03.2009 was Rs.
643 Crores.80% of the present annual sales is from Project Business.

Transformer orders are through leading consultants of International
repute like ENGINEERS INDIA LTD., KAVERNER, TATA CONSULTING
ENGINEERS, MN DASTUR, AVANT GARDE, TOYO ENGINEERING, JACOBS
HG, UHDE, CHEMTEX ENGG., DALAL CONSULTANTS LTD., BECHTEL,
MECON, DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS, FICHTNER CONSULTING
ENGINEERS - to name a few. All the turnkey Contractors like ABB,
SIEMENS, L & T etc. are regularly sourcing their Transformer
requirements for their Industrial and Switchyard package projects.

There are total 12 branches of voltamp ltd all over the india. They 90%
of production is sold to Private and Public companies , 8% of production
is sold to Government Companies , and 2% of production is Exported.

They Consist of total three certificate i.e IS 2026 , IEC 76 ,
ISO 9001:2000 .

They have license agreements with two German companies M/s. MORA
Transformatoren GmbH, Usingen and M/s. HOCHSPANNUNGSTECHNIK
UND TRANSFORMATORBAU GMBH (HTT) for manufacture of Vacuum
Resin Impregnated Dry Type Transformers and Cast Resin Dry Type
Transformers respectively. They have equipped ourselves over a period to
manufacture different application transformers like for power generation,
power distribution, drive application, furnace application, to name a few.
We have been expanding our product range in Oil filled transformers
manufacture larger rating transformers and also of higher voltage class,
graduating from 33KV class to 66 KV class and later on to 132 kv class.

There revenues have grown from Rs. 1103.54 million in FY 2004 to Rs.
1743.75 million in FY 2005. The netprofit, as restated, during the same
period has grown from Rs. 99.70 million to Rs. 143.87 million. During
the first three quarters of the current FY 2006, They have achieved
revenue of Rs. 1753.66 million andgenerated net profit, as restated, of
Rs. 163.70 million.

With 40 years of experience in designing and manufacturing transformers,
They have been able to generatebrand loyalty among customers by
focusing on customer requirements through prompt response, delivery
of quality products and strong after sales services.

The current turnover of the company is 542 cr.

VOLTAMP has a complement of about 300 personnel (including 60
engineers) with branches in all major cities and service centres spread all
over the country in important locations such as Mumbai, New Delhi,
Chennai, Bangalore, Secunderabad, Pune, Bhubaneshwar, etc.

III. Production Department:

They are one of the manufacturers of transformers in India with focus on the
industrial segment. They have a capacity of 5400 MVA and capable of
manufacturing transformers upto 50MVA, 132 KV of Power transformers, class for
many applications covering most segments of users including industrial, utility and
buildings.

They produces three types of class of transformers. And they are 33 kv ,
66 kv , 132 kv. There production in the year 1998-2002 was 5400 MKV ,
50 MVA of 132 KV class. There annual production in the year 2003-2004
was 759,240 MW.

They produces upto 100 MVA/220 KV class of Oil Pilled power
transformers , 5 MVA/11 KV class of Resin impregnated transformers.

Total installed capacity of the company is 13000 MVA/ month.

Oil Filled Transformers:








The Company has installed facility to manufacture Oil filled power and
Distribution Transformers up to 100 MVA, 220 KV Class, Resin
Impregnated Dry type Transformers up to 5 MVA, 11 KV Class
(In Technical collaboration with a leading GERMAN Company) and Cast
Resin Dry type Transformers up to 12.5 MVA, 33 KV Class (In Technical
collaboration with a leading GERMAN Company).

VOLTAMP derives its strength from its customers. The growth of the latter

In view of the requirement of Indian Industry, we are now introducing
VOLTAMP Cast Resin (Dry Type) Transformers. This introduction will
supplement our existing product viz. Vacuum Resin Impregnated Dry
Type Transformers. Dry Type Transformers of both the above varieties
are in use in the Indian Industry. To offer time proven designs
substantiated by reliable field experience we have entered into Technical
Collaboration with M/s. HTT, Hann Munden, Germany.

They manufacture Cast resin Power and Distribution Transformers,
Converter Transformers, Transformers with On Load Tap Changers
(OLTC), Motor - starting Transformers, Testing Transformers, etc. Their
speciality is to make special transformers to meet customers'
requirements.

Unitised Sub_Station:




In accordance with IEC 62271 Standard, the prefabricated steel enclosure
housed - HT Switchgear, Transformer and LT Switchgear and associated
equipments to form a composite compartmentalised UNITISED SUB-
STATION with concern to safety and meet the Urban and Industrial needs.
The Substation is designed to take care of moisture, dirt, condensation in
coastal areas and is Completely lockable, to protect against unauthorized
assess.


Induction Furnace:


Induction Furnace has coil constructed from heavy copper tubing. It is
designed and tuned to the inverter circuit which applies a medium
frequency (generally 500 Hz or 1000 Hz) voltage to the Induction coil.
The magnetic field produced by the induction coil induces eddy currents in
the charge and heats it. Medium frequency is necessary to enhance the
rate of heat generation.

Transformers which are used for transforming available three phase A.C.
voltage to required voltage for converter circuit of the Induction Furnace
are referred to as Induction Furnace Transformers.
Depending on the rating of the rectifier transformers, input voltage is
derived from standard three phase AC distribution voltages like 433 V, 3.3
kV, 6.6 kV, 11 kV, 22 kV, 33 kV etc. These become the primary (or line
side) voltage of the transformer. Secondary (or cell side) voltage can be
between 400 to 1000 V decided by the required D.C. output Voltage.


IV. Services

VTL undertakes repair of transformers of any make and a range
upto 220 KV / 200 MVA, both at our works and also at site (if
adequate handling & working facilities are available).
VOLTAMP has hands on experience to inspect failed / damaged
transformers in-situ and ability to give quickly a rough cost
estimate for taking immediate decision regarding repairs.
VOLTAMP has excellent design back up to check the transformer
undertaken for repair and to suggest alteration in design and to
repair the same with suitable modification for trouble-free
operations subsequently. All improvements to enhance better
performance are carried out without obligation.
VOLTAMP has the requisite confidence in its in-house technical
strength to offer suitable guarantees on such repaired transformers
even though the original units are of a make other than its own.
VOLTAMP undertake the overhauling / major maintenance / any
transformer related problem services at site for any brand / any
type / any application transformer such as ICT / GT / UAT / ST/
Rectiformers / Traction Loco transformer / Special application
Transformer of various brands such as BHEL, HHE, NGEF, CGL,
TELK, GEC, ABB, indigenous / imported brands.


VOLTAMP undertake overhauling of transformer of continuous
process plant on annual rate contract basis also. Similar contract
are executed for GSFC, GACL, IPCL, IOCL, BPCL, NALCO, ONGC,
AEC-SEC, UPL, NTPC like clients. They are also undertaking
overhauling of Large Power Transformers at site as a Life
Enhancement Program for various customers.

V. Infrastructure:


Plants
They are currently operating four plants Oil filled Power Transformers,
Distribution Transformers, Dry type Resin impregnated Transformersand
Cast Resin transformers respectively. Each plant is an independent entity
having full fledged individual facilities for design, manufacture, material
handling, testing and servicing of a wide range of transformers up to 160
MVA, 220 KV Class. The Manufacturing capacity totals 9000 MVA per
year. They are an ISO 9001 - 2000 Company, accredited by
ISOQAR.


Testing & Quality Controls
At each test of production various quality tests are carried out and then
passed on to the next stage of production. The quality control department
monitors all quality controls with proper documentation. On customer
request supplementary tests are carried out and we also provide IEC
certification on request. On customers requests dynamic short circuit test
and lighting input test are carried out buy reputed agencies.


Testing Parameters
They are available to owners, consultants, project directors and for almost
any type of transformers in our range. They provide reliable and cost
effective solutions, including final design and installation on any project
world wide.

They have over 15,000 installations totaling hundreds of thousands of
KVA capacity all over India, Nepal, Bhutan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and
Middle East Asia,powering every type of Industry, city and vital
installations. In an increasingly safety conscious world, it is there major
responsibility to provide safe, effective and long lasting solutions.

They have total 13 marketing office according to the region wise. And
they in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, bhubaneshwar, Chennai,
Secunderabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Pune,
Ahemadabad, Indore, Nagpur.
