While fall is in the air in America, it is heating up for
summer in South Africa. We still continue to witness in Sweetwaters. Thomas is working hard to restructure the school at Tabitha. Our teachers and interns help us tutor our Tabitha kids in reading. Art classes started. The boys will move into their new dorm soon. A little restful week off between term 3 and 4 were just what the doctor ordered for Elizabeth and Jacob.
Queens for the King
Believe on the Lord J esus Christ and you shall be saved We continue to go on Tuesdays into Sweetwaters and share the Good News of Christ with the suffering patients there. The lady pictured was overcome when I shared with her from the Bible and started to weep. She later prayed to receive Christ. We had another man saved this month as well. Please pray for these new believers.
Shaping Young Minds Thomas is working hard to discern God's will for how to best restructure the Tabitha elementary school. God has blessed us with two Australian teachers who are tutoring the kids behind in reading for 3 months. We are looking for a Math tutor now. Pray for Thomas as he needs much wisdom in what curriculum best suits the Tabitha kids so they can learn to read God's Word for themselves.
Elizabeth Update Elizabeth is pictured here with her close friend Megan. These two cutie pies scored the game winning goals (3-2) to lift Grace College to be the soccer tournament champions. Elizabeth is ranked 3rd in her class academically. She was voted a "prefect" by her peers & teachers for her senior year. This honor is humbling since she has only been at Grace for a year. Thomas and I are most delighted by the godly character we see in Elizabeth every day.
The Jacob Scoop Jacob had a tough September. He had mononucleosis and missed school for 1.5 weeks. He rebounded however and really enjoyed his week off between term 3 & 4. He got to hug & ride an ostrich. Jacob bungee jumped off the highest bridge in the world. Then he scaled Table Mountain (1 of the 7 Wonders of the World). But the best thing of all he says is a cupcake bakery he found called Charyl's. He made us go there twice to "gain his strength back" hahaha!
Donations that make us Jump for Joy! Funding to carpet the volunteer hallway. Funding for black-out shades for boy's and girl's bedrooms. PJ's for Tabitha kids-ages 6 months-11years. Peroxide/Baking Soda toothpaste for kids. Art/Craft supplies for Devotion classes for kids and art classes
Tabitha's Artistic Christ-like Interns! Emily and Julie now have begun art classes in our Tabitha school on Tuesdays after we get back from evangelism in the Sweetwaters community. The girls also completed the murals in the remodeled girls lounge. We love the way they paint the verses of Scripture on the walls so the kids can hide God's Word in their hearts while they are young.
