TROUBLESHOOTING
DTC TROUBLESHOOTING
The past DTC(s) can be read out with the Dr. H (the main ECM stores up to five DTCs). However, the DTCs of the protection
function and improper operation are not stored; they will be erased upon resolution of the problem concerned when the
combination switch is turned OFF.

DTC 02 (24 V Battery Voltage Low)
[Battery indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the left battery voltage is lower than 24 V.
Caused by discharge of battery as a result of driving by battery for a long time or frequently starting up the
engine.
Charge the battery or start the engine and let it idle.
DTC 05 (R. Driver Overload Limit)
DTC 0B (L. Driver Overload Limit)
DTC 06 (R. Motor Overheat Limit)
DTC 0C (L. Motor Overheat Limit)
DTC 52 (R. Driver Overcurrent)
DTC 53 (L. Driver Overcurrent)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the crawler tension is excessively hard or when heavy load has been applied to the motor for a
long time due to blowing very hard snow, etc.
Inspect the crawler tension (page 3-8). If there is no problem in the crawler, reduce the amount of snow
being blown.
DTC 0A (12 V Battery Voltage Low)
[Battery indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the left battery voltage is lower than 12 V.
Caused by discharge of battery as a result of driving by battery for a long time or frequently starting up the
engine.
Charge the battery or start the engine and let it idle.
DTC 20 (Combination Switch ON Too Long)
[Battery indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Battery indicator lamp will flash when the combination switch is left turned ON for 5 minutes or more.
Turn the combination switch OFF and ON again to confirm that the battery indicator lamp does not flash.
DTC 21 (Engine Startup Operational Error)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the engine is started while squeezing the drive clutch lever or with the auger clutch switch
pushed ON.
Start the engine with the drive clutch lever released and the auger clutch switch OFF.
DTC 22 (Power Height Overload)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the monitored count of operation of the power height has exceeded the prescribed count within
a limited time. (Protection against overheating of the motor)
Clear the memorized count by stopping operation for 10 seconds after the DTC is displayed. If the DTC is
indicated again, reduce the number of times of operation of the power height.

DTC 23 (Main Shift Lever Angle Sensor Initialization Not Completed)
1. Main shift lever angle sensor initial setting
Perform the main shift lever/steering lever angle sensor setup (page 4-95).
Check the DTC again with the Dr. H.
Is DTC 23 indicated?
YES Replace the main ECM with a new one and recheck.
NO The main ECM is normal (initial setting is completed).
DTC 24 (Throttle Control Lever Angle Sensor Initialization Not Completed)
1. Throttle control lever angle sensor initial setting
Perform the throttle control lever angle sensor setup (page 4-99).
Check the DTC again with the Dr. H.
Is DTC 24 indicated?
YES Replace the main ECM with a new one and recheck.
NO The main ECM is normal (initial setting is completed).
DTC 25 (Power Height Angle Sensor Initialization Not Completed)
[Reset switch lamp (Green) flashes]
Displayed when the initial setting of the power height angle sensor is not completed, as in main ECM
replacement.
Perform the power height angle sensor setup (page 4-101).
DTC 26 (Auger Reset Position Initialization Not Completed)
[Reset switch lamp (Green) flashes]
Displayed when the initial setting of the auger reset position is not completed, as in main ECM replacement.
Perform the initial setting of the auger reset position setup (page 4-103).
DTC 27 (Power Rolling Overload)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the monitored count of operation of the power rolling has exceeded the prescribed count within
a limited time. (Protection against overheating of the motor)
Clear the memorized count by stopping operation for 10 seconds after the DTC is displayed. If the DTC is
indicated again, reduce the number of times of operation of the power rolling.
DTC 28 (Power Height Continuous Operation)
Operation of the power height is stopped when it is continuously operated for 10 seconds. (Protection against
overheating of the motor)
Perform power height operation within 10 seconds.
DTC 29 (Power Rolling Continuous Operation)
Operation of the power rolling is stopped when it is continuously operated for 10 seconds. (Protection against
overheating of the motor)
Perform power rolling operation within 10 seconds.
DTC 2A (Chute Guide Continuous Operation)
Operation of the chute guide is stopped when it is continuously operated for 10 seconds.
Perform chute guide operation within 10 seconds.

Operation of the chute is stopped when it is continuously operated for 10 seconds.
Perform chute operation within 10 seconds.
DTC 42 (R. Driver Overheat)

Displayed when the thermistor in the motor becomes hot due to operation of the motor under heavy load.
Stop the snowblower and allow the motor to cool down and restart.
DTC 44 (R. Driver Voltage Error)

Displayed when the driver power voltage has become low due to frequent driving by battery and engine
restarting.
Start the engine and let it idle.

Displayed when driving on a slope etc. with the battery terminal disconnected.
Check the battery cable for a loose or poorly connected terminal (page 7-8).

Displayed when the drive motor has been locked by lodged foreign objects in the crawler.
Remove the foreign object.
DTC 4B (24 V Battery Voltage High)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes and battery indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when driving on a slope etc. with the battery terminal disconnected.
Check the battery cable for a loose or poorly connected terminal (page 7-8).
DTC 4C (Engine Low Speed)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) illuminates]
Displayed when the engine is stopped with the combination switch turned ON.
Also displayed when driving by the battery or when the auger or chute is operated with the engine stopped.
Check that the control warning (Red) lamp will go off when the engine starts.
DTC 4F (Engine Speed Over)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the engine rpm is over the specified rev speed.
Check installation of the throttle control lever angle sensor, and if it is not faulty, perform the initial setting of
the throttle control lever angle sensor (page 4-99).

DTC 50 (R. Motor Reverse Rotation)
DTC 51 (L. Motor Reverse Rotation)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when starting on a steep slope.
Do not drive or perform snow blowing on a slope with gradient over 15.
DTC 54 (R. Driver Relay Continuity Failure)
DTC 55 (L. Driver Relay Continuity Failure)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when relay contact in the driver has become discontinuous due to ice accumulation.
When a fault is detected, a relay coil in the driver is energized for 5 minutes to generate heat to melt the ice on
the contacts, whether the combination switch is ON or OFF. (Warning indicating is cancelled after 5 minutes.)
If the ice is melted within 5 minutes and continuity of the contacts is recovered (perform the driving operation),
the display is cleared.
Turn the combination switch ON and leave the snowblower for 5 minutes.
DTC 62 (Startup Drive Clutch Lever Switch Operational Error)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the combination switch is turned ON while squeezing the drive clutch lever.
Release the drive clutch lever, and then turn the combination switch ON.
DTC 63 (Startup Auger Clutch Switch Operational Error)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the combination switch is turned ON with the auger clutch switch pressed.
Release the auger clutch switch, and then turn the combination switch ON.
DTC 64 (Running Mode Changing Error)
[Drive control indicator lamp (Orange) flashes]
Displayed when the mode selector switch is switched over during driving.
Release the drive clutch lever.
DTC 65 (Auger Clutch Switch Continuous Operation)
Occurs when the auger clutch switch is pressed for more than 3 seconds.
Immediately release the auger clutch switch when its lamp (Green) comes on when the auger clutch switch
is pressed during snow blowing.
DTC B0 (Oil Alert Failure)
[Oil indicator lamp (Orange) illuminates]
Displayed when the engine oil level is low or when driving on a slope (to cause the snowblower to become
inclined).
Place the snowblower on a level surface, turn the combination switch ON and check the display. If the DTC
is displayed, check the engine oil level (page 3-3).

DTC 03 (Open/short Circuit of the Power Height Angle Sensor)
1. Power height angle sensor power line inspection
Disconnect the power height angle sensor 3P
connector.
Turn the combination switch ON.
Measure the voltage between the No. 1 (Pink)
terminal (+) of the main wire harness side power
height angle sensor 3P connector and ground ().
Is the voltage about 5 V?
YES GO TO STEP 4.
NO GO TO STEP 2.
2. Power height angle sensor power line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 7 (Pink)
terminal of the main ECM 26P connector and No. 1
(Pink) terminal of the power height angle sensor 3P
connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 3.
NO Open circuit in Pink wire
3. Power height angle sensor power line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Pink)
terminal of the main wire harness side power height
angle sensor 3P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Pink wire
NO Replace the main ECM with a new one
and recheck.
4. Power height angle sensor ground line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 20 (Black)
terminal of the main ECM 26P connector and No. 3
(Black) terminal of the power height angle sensor
3P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 5.
NO Open circuit in Black wire

Check for continuity between the No. 4 (Violet)
terminal of the main ECM 26P connector and No. 2
(Violet) terminal of the power height angle sensor
3P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 6.
NO Open circuit in Violet wire
6. Power height angle sensor signal line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 2 (Violet)
terminal of the main wire harness side power height
angle sensor 3P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Violet wire
NO Inspect the power height angle sensor
(page 17-7). If it is normal, replace the
main ECM with a new one and recheck.
DTC 80 (Open/short Circuit of the Main Shift Lever Angle Sensor)
1. Main shift lever angle sensor power line inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main shift lever angle sensor 3P
connector.
Turn the combination switch ON.
Measure the voltage between the No. 1 (Pink)
terminal (+) of the main wire harness side main shift
lever angle sensor 3P connector and ground ().
Is the voltage about 5 V?
YES GO TO STEP 4.
NO GO TO STEP 2.

2. Main shift lever angle sensor power line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Pink)
terminal of the main shift lever angle sensor 3P
connector and No. 9 (Pink) terminal of the main
ECM 26P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 3.
NO Open circuit in Pink wire
3. Main shift lever angle sensor power line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Pink)
terminal of the main wire harness side main shift
lever angle sensor 3P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Pink wire
NO Replace the main ECM with a new one
and recheck.
4. Main shift lever angle sensor ground line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 3 (Brown)
terminal of the main shift lever angle sensor 3P
connector and No. 22 (Brown) terminal of the main
ECM 26P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 5.
NO Open circuit in Brown wire
5. Main shift lever angle sensor signal line open circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 21 (Gray)
terminal of the main ECM 26P connector and No. 2
(Gray) terminal of the main shift lever angle sensor
3P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 6.
NO Open circuit in Gray wire

6. Main shift lever angle sensor signal line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 2 (Gray)
terminal of the main wire harness side main shift
lever angle sensor 3P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Gray wire
NO Inspect the main shift lever angle sensor
(page 16-15). If it is normal, replace the
main ECM with a new one and recheck.
DTC 83 (Open/short Circuit of the R. Steering Lever Angle Sensor)
1. R. steering lever angle sensor power line inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the R. steering lever angle sensor 3P
connector.
Turn the combination switch ON.
Measure the voltage between the No. 3 (Pink)
terminal (+) of the main wire harness side R.
steering lever angle sensor 3P connector and
ground ().
Is the voltage about 5 V?
YES GO TO STEP 4.
NO GO TO STEP 2.
2. R. steering lever angle sensor power line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 3 (Pink)
terminal of the R. steering lever angle sensor 3P
connector and No. 9 (Pink) terminal of the main
ECM 26P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 3.
NO Open circuit in Pink wire

Check for continuity between the No. 3 (Pink)
terminal of the main wire harness side R. steering
lever angle sensor 3P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Pink wire
NO Replace the main ECM with a new one
and recheck.
4. R. steering lever angle sensor ground line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Brown)
terminal of the R. steering lever angle sensor 3P
connector and No. 22 (Brown) terminal of the main
ECM 26P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 5.
NO Open circuit in Brown wire
5. R. steering lever angle sensor signal line open circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 2 (Red)
terminal of the R. steering lever angle sensor 3P
connector and No. 8 (Red) terminal of the main
ECM 26P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 6.
NO Open circuit in Red wire
6. R. steering lever angle sensor signal line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 2 (Red)
terminal of the main wire harness side R. steering
lever angle sensor 3P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Red wire
NO Inspect the R. steering lever angle sensor
(page 16-16). If it is normal, replace the
main ECM with a new one and recheck.

DTC 84 (Open/short Circuit of the L. Steering Lever Angle Sensor)
1. L. steering lever angle sensor power line inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the L. steering lever angle sensor 3P
connector.

Is the voltage about 5 V?
YES GO TO STEP 4.
NO GO TO STEP 2.
2. L. steering lever angle sensor power line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Pink)
terminal of the L. steering lever angle sensor 3P
connector and No. 9 (Pink) terminal of the main
ECM 26P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 3.
NO Open circuit in Pink wire
3. L. steering lever angle sensor power line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Pink)
terminal of the main wire harness side L. steering
lever angle sensor 3P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Pink wire
NO Replace the main ECM with a new one
and recheck.
4. L. steering lever angle sensor ground line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main ECM 26P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 3 (Brown)
terminal of the L. steering lever angle sensor 3P
connector and No. 22 (Brown) terminal of the main
ECM 26P connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 5.
NO Open circuit in Brown wire

DTC 98 (R. Motor Temperature Overheated)
1. Recovery of the motor temperature
Stop the snowblower and wait until the motor cools down sufficiently.
After the motor has cooled, check the DTC again with the Dr. H.
Is DTC 98 indicated?
YES GO TO STEP 2.
NO Motor overheated (the system is normal). Check for anything lodged in the crawler as well as
inspecting the tension of the crawler (page 3-8).
2. R. motor temperature sensor power line short circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the R. motor 6P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 6 (Violet)

DTC A4 (Drive Clutch Lever Switch Failure)
1. Drive clutch lever switch line open circuit inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the main ECM 34P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 18 (Gray) and
No. 21 (Yellow) terminals of the main wire harness
side main ECM 34P connector while operating the
drive clutch lever.
There should be continuity with the drive clutch
lever squeezed and no continuity with the lever
released.
Are there continuities correct?
YES Replace the main ECM with a new one
and recheck.
NO GO TO STEP 2.

Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 5.

5. Drive clutch lever switch ground line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the drive clutch lever
switch (Gray) terminal of the main wire harness side
and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Gray wire
NO Inspect the drive clutch lever switch (page
16-17). If the drive clutch lever switch is
normal, replace the main ECM with a new
one and recheck.

DTC A5 (Auger Clutch Switch Failure)
1. Auger clutch switch line open circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Light blue)
and No. 4 (Black) terminals of the main wire harness
side main ECM 34P connector while operating the
auger clutch switch.
There should be continuity with the switch pressed
and no continuity with the switch released.
Are the continuities correct?
YES Replace the main ECM with a new one
and recheck.
NO GO TO STEP 2.
2. Auger clutch switch power line open circuit inspection
Disconnect the auger clutch switch 4P connector.
Check for continuity between the No. 3 (Black)
terminal of the auger clutch switch 4P connector
and No. 4 (Black) terminal of the main ECM 34P
connector of the main wire harness side.
Is there continuity?
YES GO TO STEP 3.
NO Open circuit in Black wire.
3. Auger clutch switch power line short circuit inspection
Check for continuity between the No. 3 (Black)
terminal of the main wire harness side auger clutch
switch 4P connector and ground.
Is there continuity?
YES Short circuit in Black wire
NO GO TO STEP 4.

Check for continuity between the No. 1 (Light blue)

Are there continuity?
YES Replace the engine ECM with a new one
and recheck. If the DTC is indicated,
replace the main ECM.
NO Open circuit in Light green wire
DTC BA (24 V Battery Low (16 V or less))
1. Battery inspection
Check the battery condition.
Is the battery in good condition?
YES GO TO STEP 2.
NO Charge the battery fully and recheck.
2. Reproduction test
Check the DTC again with the Dr. H.
Is DTC BA indicated?
YES GO TO STEP 3.
NO Perform the troubleshooting of Battery is damaged or weak (page 7-4).
