SUMMER UNDER DRESS
This little summer under dress I made for wearing under Sophies openwork crochet dresses, skirts and
tops. With her white skin the images often looked better with something under the garments.
Its cute and easy to wear, also as a light summer dress, so if you like this super-simple dress, I have
made a tutorial for you to copy! It works with any kind of dress shape, you need only large enough neck
opening for the head, as there are no buttons!
The dress and the pattern instruction is made in the most simple way, for anyone with a sewing machine
to make! Work the dress shorter or longer as you please.
Enjoy!
SIZES: Any size.
MATERIALS FOR SOPHIES SUMMER DRESS:
Light cotton fabric, long as you want the dress.
Cotton lace enough to sew on the skirt edge, the arm holes, and front and back neck line.
1. I wanted the under dress to t precisely under this
Summer Mint Crochet Dress. And I had the perfect mate-
rial for it: an old summer skirt of mine!
The skirt hem was ready for use, so I placed the crochet
dress on top of the fabric with the dress skirt line on top
of the fabrics sewn hem.
2. With 0.5 in extra, cut around 1/2 the back piece of the
dress (The tallest piece). Make marks on the middle.
3. Remove the dress. Fold the fabric in the middle mark.
4. Cut the rest of the back piece after the cutted lines on
the rst half.
5. The back-piece is ready. Cut the front piece with the
back-piece as pattern. Make the neck line shorter
according to the to the over-dress

7. With the right side of the fabric towards each other, sew the front- and back piece together in the sides.
Zig-zag and steam. Fold the fabric for the straps like this:
Make a seam to close. Steam.
8. I choose not to sew lace on top of the front and back.
Sew the lace on the arm holes with zig-zag, with the lace on the right side of the dress. Steam down the
seaming.
9. Fasten the straps on the back-piece, right side, with pins. Edge the top front and back with zig-zag.
Fold the edge to the back side, steam, make a seam.

10. Put the dress on the child. Adjust the length of
the straps on the front. Tuck straps to the inside,
fasten with pins, sew a seam, steam.
If you like lace on the front- and back piece, sew it on
before you fasten the straps.
You probably dont have a nished hem on your
fabric! Cut the dress to desired length, place lace
on right side of the dress, sew it on with zig-zag.
Fold down and steam.
