TO CREATE A REPOSITORY
STEP -1:
CONN TO ORACLE WITH USERNAME:- SYSTEM ; PASSWORD :-
MANAGER ; HOSTNAME : ORCL
AND CREATE 3 USERS FOR REPOSITORY,SOURCE and TARGET
SO
SQL> CREATE USER MY_REPO IDENTIFIED BY MY_REPO
User created succesfully
SQL>GRANT CONNECT,RESOURCE TO MY_REPO;
Grant succeded
STEP :-2 :
Click on start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Adminstrative tools -> select
Services &
start the - Informatica Repository Server - services (if it is started already Restart
the Services again)
STEP-4
STEP-5
Select the Repository & Right Click Mouse & select New Repository &
In GENERAL TAB give the
Repository Name : - PRACTICE_REPO(can be anything) &
In Database Connection tab
Connect String : orcl
DBUser : my_repo (the user which you have created in oracle)
DBPassword : my_repo
&
In Licenses tab
Copy the 2 licenses key and paste one by one and update. & Apply & ok
by this your repository is created .(The Licenses File is available at the Desktop
Window)
Click on APPLY & OK
NOw Wait your Respository is creating.
ok.
STEP-6
CLICK ON START -> PROGRAMS -> Informatica PowerCenter 7.1.1 ->
Informatica PowerCenter 7.1.1 - Client -> SELECT Repository Manager
STEP-7
Connect to your repository by providing username and pwd
and go to Folder-> create-> give Any folder name & ok
STEP- 8
Go to Designer and connect to your repository and work
STEP-5 :
Select your folder -> Go to Tools Menu -> Select Workflow Designer -> Go to
Workflows Menu -> Create -> Give any Name (Ex: MYWF_01) -> OK
STEP-6:
Go to Taks Menu -> Create -> Select the task type to create as [SESSION] &
Enter a new name for this task[Ex:- Map_01_Sess](can be anything) -> Click on
Create & Select Done
STEP-7 :
Now Select Both Workflow and the Session Task and Go to Task Menu -> Link
Sequential.
STEP-8 :
a) After Linking is over Select your Session Task -> Double Click you session
task -> You get Edit Tasks Window -> Select Mappings Tab -> Select
Connections -> Give your Source & Target Connection at the Value Tab.
b) Select the Targets -> Change the Target Load Type from Bulk to Normal
c) Click on OK.
STEP-9 :
Disconnect your folder
STEP-10:
a) Cick on Start -> Programs -> Informatica PowerCenter 7.1.1 Informatica
PowerCenter 7.1.1 -> Informatica PowerCenter 7.1.1 - Server -> Informatica
Server Setup.
b) Click on Continue
c) Give the Server Name : MYSERVER (As you have given in Workflow
Manager -> in Server Conguration that name)
d)TCP/IP Host Address : dwhlab
e) Select Repository Tab
f) Give Repository Name & User & pwd & hostname(dwhlab) & Port No
g) Select the Licenses tab & Copy the 2 licenses keys and update one by one.
h) Click on Apply & OK
NOTE:- THE ABOVE CONFIGURATION IS CASE SENSITIVE.
STEP-11 :
Start your Informatica Services
STEP-12 :
Go to Workflow Manager :
Select your SERVER(MYSERVER) at the Repository Navigator Window -> Right
Click on the server -> Assign to Workflow -> Select your workflow which you
want to Run -> Click on Assign -> ok
STEP-13 :
Connect to your folder
STEP-14 :
Go to Tools -> Workflow Designer -> & Select Workflows Menu -> Start
Workflow.
STEP-15 :
Check your Session as SUCCEEDED or FAILED In the Workflow Monitor.
If its FAILED Right Click the Mouse at the Session Task and Check The ERROR.
