Shuttle Tournament
Syro Malabar Cultural Academy is organizing a Shuttle tournament. The event will be on Saturday, Oct 18th @ 9:00

For the past two days, over 60 Syro
Malabar young adult & young couple
leaders have come to our Chicago
Cathedral for a STAFF 2014 - a national
SyroMalabar young adult gathering
hosted by our St. Thomas Diocese. They have attended the
9:30 AM Holy Qurbana and will participating in sessions &
Holy Adoration today and tomorrow. Let us welcome our
national leaders to Chicago!
CCD News
World Mission Sunday is on October 19, 2014. Various activities
have been planned for all class levels. Check with your childs
class teacher for details.
A group pf Seminarians from St. Joseph Seminary is visiting our
parish this Sunday. Please join us in welcoming them.

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Tresa of Lissiux. Donuts will be given in the
parish hall for CCD students.
St. Josephs seminary staff and students visits our church today.
SyroMalabar National Young Adults & Young Couples Gathering 2014 Over
60 SyroMalabar young adults and young couple leaders are with us in Chicago
today for their STAFF 2014: the national gathering of young adults hosted by our St Thomas
Diocese. They gathered in Chicago to discuss their role in our Church & diocese. Let us all
welcome to Chicago.
Parish council meeting is scheduled in the conference hall today at 9.30 am. All the parish
council members are requested to attend the meeting.
Next Sunday we celebrate as mission Sunday and please bring items for auction and also there
will be a second collection. For the kids there will be games in the basement.
St. Tomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago is implementing the Charter for the
Protection of Children and Young People mandated by United States Conference of Catholic
Bishops. A Key element of this charter is to provide "Safe Environment" training to all diocesan
clergy/employees/teachers/volunteers/parents/children.
Clergy/employees/volunteers: Must attend "Protecting God's Children" a Virtus program.
Te last session was in August and future session dates will be published in coming weeks.
All CCD students attend age appropriate Safe Environment training sessions. Tis is already
arranged.
All others must attend Safe Environment awareness. We have arranged 2 training sessions for
parents in our church on Sunday, October 12, 2014 (9:20am & 10:15am - each session is 30
minutes long). Registration happens at the training session.

On Sunday, October 19th, we celebrate Mission Sunday. Regarding festivities, the Cherupushpa
Mission League (CML) will be conducting fun activities in the basement throughout the day except
during mass. Ranging from face painting and nail art to testing one's reflexes with BOZO and other
games, this event is guaranteed to be a hit for all! Special prizes will be distributed during the last hour.
Don't forget to bring money and your best game face! Volunteers are also needed!
