10. Course objectives (competences):
-enabling students to communicate on topics connected with tourism in general, facts and
statistics about home country, tourism as the biggest business in the world, job skills in
tourism ; understanding general and specific information in longer texts on such topics.
- enabling students to communicate on topics connected with world destinations, different
customs, fact sheet about a country/region, the biggest spenders/earners in tourism,
describing a destination, tourism features and attractions building vocabulary in this field;
understanding general and specific information in longer texts on such topics
- enabling students to communicate on topics connected with tour operators, tour
operators in home country, package holiday, the role of tour operators, describing a
package holiday, the role of tour operators, a web page or a package tour building
vocabulary in this field; understanding general and specific information in longer texts on
such topics
- enabling students to communicate on topics connected with tourist motivations, old and
new tourism, reasons to travel and money spent on travel, changes in tourist motivation,
describing trends building vocabulary in this field; understanding general and specific
information in longer texts on such topics
- enabling students to communicate on topics connected with travel agencies, identifying
needs, local travel agency evaluation, presenting a product, investigating clients needs, a
report on travel agency -understanding general and specific information in longer texts on
such topics
- enabling students to communicate on topics connected with transport in tourism,
transport in home country, work in transport, timetables and schedules, describing a
timetable - building vocabulary in this field; understanding general and specific information

11. Course content:
- Tourism in general: facts and statistics about home country, tourism as the
biggest business in the world, job skills in tourism
- World destinations, different customs, fact sheet about a country/region, the
biggest spenders/earners in tourism, describing a destination, tourism features
and attractions
- Tour operators, tour operators in home country, package holiday, the role of tour
operators, describing a package holiday, the role of tour operators, a web page or
a package tour
- Tourist motivations, old and new tourism, reasons to travel and money spent on
travel, changes in tourist motivation, describing trends
- Travel agencies, identifying needs, local travel agency evaluation, presenting a
product, investigating clients needs, a report on travel agency
- Transport in tourism, transport in home country, work in transport, timetables and
schedules, describing a timetable
- Reading: longer texts, multiple choice exercises, true/false exercises
- Listening: different speakers, longer dialogues
- Grammar: Present and past tenses, questions, advice, suggestions,
